Ghollywood Actor John Dumelo is finally married. The actor got married to his girlfriend of two years whose name is Gifty Mawunya on Saturday, May 12, 2018, in the Spintex area of Accra, Ghana. The marriage which was a traditional one had celebrities both Ghanaian and Nigerian celebrities in attendance. Some of these celebrities include Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michael, Ramsey Nouah, and Yvonne Nelson amongst others.
Earlier in the week Major female celebrities had a social media fight with tv personality Kofi Okyere Darko who in an instagram post wrote “Just got off the phone with my friend and brother John Dumelo… My brother’s actually getting married and I am invited! Unbelievable true oo!”
“Got me wondering why most men in the public eye settle for quiet/unknownn [sic] women and not the ones all over. That could be a lesson for some of our sister’s ooo. Men want women who can make a home and not be all over,”
Yvonne Okoro replied also in an instagram post “Kofi, @nineteen57bykod you could have congratulated the couple without needlessly denigrating other women. Who a man chooses to be with is a matter of personal preference and vice versa for women too. As you clearly believe that women should make all their life choices with marriage always being at the forefront of their minds, you should preach the same to men. I pray that young women would be raised to believe that they can achieve their dreams (working hard, and being KNOWN)and being also the perfect bride for some man one day, this goes for the man too.
PS-A quiet and unknown woman does not equate a happy and successful marriage. I know many KNOWN women that are working hard and are all over the place yet great wives and mothers too!!

Nigerian Army said Boko
Haram is no longer a threat
to Nigerians, adding that
‘’Operation Last Hold” will
clear its remnants.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen.
Tukur Burutai, who made this
known at a press conference
in Maiduguri, said ‘Operation
Last Hold’ began on May 1 and
has a deadline of August 31 to
accomplish its mission.
Represented by the
Commander, Operation Last
Hold, Major-General Abba
Dikko, he said this operation
was intended to facilitate the
clearance of sea weeds and
other obstacles obstructing the
movement of boats and people
across the Lake Chad channels.
“It will also ensure the
destruction of Boko Haram
camps and strong points along
the Lake Chad Basin area. The
operation will also facilitate the
rescue of hostages,” he said.
Buratai added that the army
is determined to consolidate on
its recent gains, especially in the
north.
“Operation Last Hold is
expected to last for four months
and it entails the deployment of
additional manoeuvre brigades
and other critical assets in
Borno State.
“The end-state of ‘Operation
Last Hold’ is the total defeat of
Boko Haram in Northern Borno.
This will pave way for the return
of the local administration and
people to their responsibilities
and communities.
“The operation will facilitate
the restoration of fishing,
farming and other economic
activities along the Lake Chad
Basin.
“Furthermore, it will facilitate
the relocation of Internally
Displaced Persons from camps
back to their communities.
“In this regard, law abiding
members of the public in
Northern Borno are enjoined
not to panic as their safety and
well-being have been factored in.
“The general public is
requested to remain vigilant
and be security conscious,
as suspected insurgents
may be fleeing from military
operations in the NorthEast’’.

We will pass fiscal, host communities components of PIB – Dogara

…Says Nigeria lost billions of dollars over failure to
reform oil & gas industry
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, has stated that the new
petroleum industry bill that the National Assembly is processing will enable Nigeria to operate
at standards and levels of efficiency expected of a twenty first century oil and gas industry.
He also added that as it currently stands, even the government recognises that the industry
can no longer meet its aspirations and those of key stakeholders.
Hon Dogara said these while declaring a public hearing on Petroleum Industry Reform Bills
open at the National Assembly.
The Bills which were considered are the Petroleum Industry Administration Bill, the Petroleum
Industry Fiscal Bill and the Petroleum Host and Impacted Communities Bill.

"You are all aware that the oil and gas industry reform have been a critical issue before the
House of Representatives since 2009 when the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) was first
transmitted to this House as an Executive Bill for legislative consideration. The major reason
for the reform, which remains even more valid today, is that the petroleum industry in Nigeria
is not operating at standards and levels of efficiency expected of a twenty first century oil and
gas industry. Government recognizes that the industry can no longer meet its aspirations and
those of key stakeholders", he said.
The speaker regretted that the 6th and 7th National Assemblies grappled with but failed to
conclude legislative consideration of the PIB.
He explained, "This, in my opinion, was as a result of insufficient consultations, weak
ownership of the Bill, absence of requisite political will as well as the extremely divergent and
competing views of the government and other major stakeholders on the provisions of the
Bill.
"However, at the National Assembly, the most important set back was that the PIB was
difficult to handle by the relevant committees because it was a massive and complex
document that was to repeal and re-enact almost all our petroleum laws into a holistic
legislation. Because of its sheer size and complexity, the Bill was difficult to consider by the
legislative committees in both chambers.
"The implications of the delay in concluding the oil and gas industry reform which commenced
since the year 2000 has been very colossal for our country running into several billions of
dollars that would have accrued to Nigeria and our economy coupled with the loss of our
erstwhile continental competitiveness."
He, however, assured that despite the setbacks experienced in the past, the 8th National
Assembly, especially the House of Representatives, will ensure that the bill passes because
completion of the oil and gas industry reform is one of its cardinal legislative objectives.
Hon Dogara added, "Today’s event is in keeping with our covenant with Nigerians to lay to
rest this difficult but surmountable challenge that has been the bent of our oil and gas
industry. To ensure a thorough and expedited conclusion of the reform, this House decided to
split the reform Bills into logical smaller Bills .This way, the individual Bills can be
expeditiously considered and passed one after the other."
The reform Bills were split into the following Bills, namely:
(i) Petroleum Industry Governance Bill 2017

(ii) Petroleum Industry Fiscal Bill 2018;

(iii) Petroleum Producing Host and Impacted Communities Bill, 2018; and

(iv) Petroleum Industry Administration Bill, 2018;

The Petroleum Industry Governance Bill, 2017 has been passed by both the House and
Senate and is now before the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for assent.

Board of Directors of
the African Development
Bank AfDB has approved a
$1.5 million grant from the
Sustainable Energy Fund
for Africa SEFA to support
the Nigerian government’s
implementation of Phase 1 of
the Jigawa 1-GW Independent
Power Producer IPP Solar
Procurement Programme.
This approval reaffirms the
underpinning principles of the bank’s new deal on energy for
Africa and its commitment to
developing renewable energy
and increasing energy access on
the continent.
At full 1 GW capacity, the
programme will assist the
government to achieve its
national goals of reaching 75
percent electricity access by
2020 and electrifying unserved
and underserved areas,
particularly in northern Nigeria
where access rates are lowest
and increasing the share of
renewable energy in the energy
mix to 30 percent by 2030.
The approved SEFA grant
will support the completion
of outstanding technical and
feasibility studies and the
design of a master plan for the
entire programme site.
Subject to the outcome of the
technical and feasibility studies,
the bank will provide additional
support to the government
in the form of funding of a
transaction advisor to design
and launch the competitive IPP
procurement. The government
has committed to de-risking
the programme through the
provision of land and common
facilities including transmission
facilities.
Commenting on the project,
the bank’s Vice President
for Power, Energy, Climate
and Green Growth, Amadou
Hott, stressed that the
approval solidifies the bank’s
commitment to Nigeria in
resolving the chronic power
shortage and ensuring increased
access to sustainable and costefficient
power. He added: “It
is important for us to deliver a
seamless implementation and
provide necessary support to
the government to conduct
an effective IPP procurement
process. An intergovernmental
team led by Rural Electrification
Agency of Nigeria will be the
implementing agency for the
grant.”

FBNH shareholders approve N8.97bn dividend

SHAREHOLDERS of FBN
Holdings Plc yesterday in
Lagos endorsed N8.97 billion
dividend recommended by the
Board of Directors for the 2017
financial year. The dividend
translates to 25 kobo per every
50 kobo share. The 25 kobo
dividend per share was against
20 kobo per share declared in
the comparative period of 2016.
Mr Sunny Nwosu, the
National Coordinator Emeritus,
Independent Shareholders
Association of Nigeria ISAN,
commended the company for
declaring dividend in spite
of high impairment. Nwosu
said that the shareholders
appreciated the dividend
considering the unfriendly
operating environment and
impairment charge for credit
losses.
He urged the company’s
board and management to map
out strategies aimed at fighting
the impairment to improve
operating profit. Nwosu said
that the company should go
out aggressively to recover
the loans for better dividends
payment in the future. He,
however, said that this was
the best time to buy into the
company in order to be part of
its success story.
Mr Nona Awo, another
shareholder expressed concern
over the company’s huge
unclaimed dividends figure.
Awo stressed the need for
collaboration between the
registrars and investor relations
officer to drive down the figure.
He added that the company
needed to increase its customer
deposit base and reduce nonperforming
loans. Speaking
at the AGM, Managing
Director/CEO of FirstBank
and subsidiaries, Dr. Adesola
Adeduntan, said, “The
Commercial Banking Group has

despite the still challenging
macro-economic environment,
with gross earnings up 1.1 per

Founder of GreenAid
Africa, Dr Tabi Joda, has
advised Nigerian leaders
to address climate change
issues which are threatening
the wellbeing of the citizens.
He gave the advice at a oneday
sensitisation programme
on “The Role of Persons with
Disability in the Fight against
Climate Change in Nigeria’’
in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Joda noted that Nigerian
leaders had, for a long
time, been participating in
roundtable discussions on
climate change but they had
yet to initiate any pragmatic
strategy to tackle climate
change issues.
The ecologist said that
since 2012, Nigeria started
experiencing devastating
disasters such as floods, fire
outbreaks and landslides.
“These incidents have
amplified the urgency in
understanding that we are
living in danger; a danger
posed by climate change and
we need to understand that
there are problems right in
front of us.
“The media call the
incidents natural disasters
but I insist that no disaster is
natural.
“If the disasters are natural,
that means something is
driving them — human
activities. And so, what
are those human activities
driving these disasters?” he
asked.
Tax was up 435 per cent yearon-year;
and Profit after Tax up
by 337 per cent year-on-year”.
The results achieved so far
shows that we are on the right
track and in 2018 and beyond
we are focusing on accelerating
the pace of execution of the plan
with emphasis on strengthening
our technology infrastructure
to drive efficiencies; developing
and promoting a full digital
and transaction banking
offerings; sustaining and
accelerating the disciplined
lending drive, with targeted
recoveries, and an improved
focus on managing operational
risks; whilst continuing with
the ongoing repositioning
and strengthening of African
subsidiaries to optimize
returns.
Its Group Managing Director,
UK Eke, also said: “As evident
by the continually improving
set of results, the initiatives
we have put in place are
producing encouraging results
ahead of our projections. It is
noteworthy to highlight that
this progress has not been
detrimental to our commitment
to cost containment, illustrated
by the 7.7 per cent year-onyear
increase in opex which
is significantly below the
headline inflation rate of
15.4 per cent. This result was
also made possible by the
successful implementation of
our digitisation initiatives, that
have allowed us to serve our
customers in a more efficient
and effective way.
“It is re-assuring that our
dominance in the electronic
platform has positioned the
Group for a prosperous future
and our holding company
model is yielding further
synergies and increasing
cross-selling amongst all the
operating companies in the
Group”. Continuing, he said
the group recognizes the need
for accelerated resolution of our
legacy assets to demonstrate
sustainable improvement in
asset quality as the progress
we made during the year was
moderated by developments in
fourth quarter which kept our
performance below guidance.

Nasarawa Again!

NO fewer than 31 people
have again been killed in the
ongoing communal crisis
between the Egbura and Bassa
ethnic nationalities in Toto Local
Government Area of Nasarawa
State.
The new casualty figure was
disclosed yesterday by the national
secretary of Bassa Cultural and
Development Union, BCDU,
Gwatana Huleji Dogwo, during a
press conference in Lafia.
He reiterated that beyond the
attacks, killings and sacking of Bassa
people and their villages, all roads
leading to Toto, Ugya,Umaisha
and Ayewawa were being blocked
and manned by Egbura militias
claiming to be vigilante groups.
He alleged that the Egbura
militias now stop and search
vehicles as well as motorcycles,
thereby killing and maiming
anyone identified to be of Bassa
ethnic extraction.
“The most shocking component
of this crisis is the fact that the
traditional rulers as well as the
political office holders from this
local council have kept mum from
the inception of this crisis to date
giving us the impression that
they could be responsible for this
genocide since they are all of the
Ebura extraction,” he said.
The Bassa community leader
regretted that the royal fathers and
political office holders of the council
were expected to have made strong
statements condemning the killings
and arson but rather in their full
glare, the burning of Bassa houses
in Toto town, Ugya and other major
Bassa settlements in broad day
light continued unabated.
Dogwo therefore appealed to
President Muhammadu Buhari to
quickly come to the aid of Bassa
people of Toto Local Government
who have been displaced as a result
of what he described as genocide.
The community leader also
urged Governor Umaru Tanko Al-
Makura of Nasarawa State to visit
Toto immediately and engage the
warring parties on a dialogue.
It would be recall that the Egbura
and Bassa ethnic nationalities in
Toto Local Government Area have
engaged in fight that resulted

Babayaro, Ugbade laud World Cup list

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and
Atlanta’ 96 Olympic reserved goalkeeper,
Emmanuel Babayaro has hailed the 30 -man
list released by national Team Manager,
Gernot Rohr for the World Cup next month
noting that the names were purely based
on merit.
Babayaro pointed out that the inclusion
of Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokosa
who is the leading scorer in the Nigeria
Professional Football League with 18 goals
was the biggest surprise in the list.
“I think the list is okay. I am seriously
looking forward to see if we can finally
break that last 16 hurdle and get to the
quarters for the very first time.
“I think this is long overdue and
hopefully Russia is where history will be
made.
“I am delighted that at least three homebased
players namely; Dele Ajiboye, Junior
Lokosa and Ikechukwu Ezenwa made the
provisional list and something tells me that
Lokosa will make the 23-man final list. “He
is the surprise package for me.
“The goalkeepers however need to train
thrice harder and work more on their
confidence. I tip Uzoho for first choice,” he
said.
Also commenting on the invitation, exinternational
and former assistant coach
of the Nigeria under-17 national football
team, Nduka Ugbade said he was satisfied
with Coach Rohr’s selection.
“I think the list is made up of the usual
suspects and these are the players that we
should indeed be taking to the World Cup.
“Looking at our options upfront, I think
the likes of Ighalo, Moses and Iheanacho
should be able to keep their jerseys barring
any injury worries.

e-Voting: Way to go

$

Last week, Kaduna state blazed the
trail in electronic voting, an idea that has
generated much interest and controversy
in Nigeria’s journey to widely accepted
elections as the determinant of the success
of our democracy. The state conducted
its LG elections using Electronic Voting
Machines (EVM) thus making history as
the first ever such elections in Nigeria and
only the second in Africa after Namibia
which deployed electronic platforms in its
presidential and parliamentary elections in
2014.
It will be stating the obvious to say lack
of credible elections have cost Nigeria dear
in past decades since independence and
have constituted a central cause of military
interventions in governance of the country.
From the Wild Wild West of the First
Republic to the Buhari military coup of
1983, rigged elections have been the prelude
to constitutional overthrows and have
remained an albatross to Nigeria’s growth.
The introduction of the card reader by the
Prof. Jega-led INEC in the 2015 elections
brought some measure of credibility to the
conduct of elections in Nigeria although the
Nigerian politician’s penchant for constantly
attempting to pervert the electoral system
and twist it to serve his selfish motives cast
doubts on the integrity of the card reader
system by the exploitation of the loophole
in the guidelines governing its use, such
as that which provided that in the event of
failure of the card readers, accreditation was
to be done manually. Little wonder then that
many card readers failed mysteriously when
they were put to use on election day and
hotly contested results emerged.
Political leaders who govern without the
mandate of the electorate are worse than an
affliction on the political system, they are
interlopers, leeches and scavengers who feed
on the entrails of the people they are meant
to serve. Because there is no connection,
no master-servant relationship, no bond of
representation or social contract, they lose
touch with the aspiration of the people and
often turn rogue, displaying arrogant and
abominable behaviour. For these types who
govern without mandate, the Permanent
Voters Card has no effect. In fact, it is no
gainsaying that the mercantile attitude of
some politicians is directly traceable to the
lack of real mandate to govern. For these
politicians, an almost impregnable electoral
system is a very useful antidote to keep
them out of power.
The Kaduna state Local Council elections
has presented itself as a good pilot run for the use of the Electronic Voting Machines to
reduce to the barest minimums the recurring
issues of electoral fraud in Nigeria. Several
valuable lessons can be gleaned as Nigeria
marches forward in her quest to eliminate
political dinosaurs who feast on her resources
via fraudulent elections.
One major advantage of the EVM is that
it helps eliminate voter apathy. Gov. Nasir
El-Rufai himself confirmed spending barely
15 seconds in voting after accreditation and
that should be a huge incentive for many a
Nigerian who, wearied by political bombast
and the seemingly incorrigible ways of our
political class, simply wants to cast his vote
and get on with his life. Assurance of spending
the minimum amount of time exercising his
civic responsibility will sure make him more
enthusiastic than preachments which tell him
to endure standing in long queues to do same.
The EVMs are perhaps the perfect antidote
to rigging if integrated with the card reader
machines in one compact unit. Under the
watch of an electoral official, a voter approaches
the machine, places his finger on a slot for his
biometrics which confirms the validity of his
card and which opens the portal showing the
political parties on the screen, he confirms his
choice by pressing the button related to the
party and that’s all, he’s done with voting.
Considering the huge cost of elections
incurred by the country every election cycle
and when other elections are held in-between,
an investment in the EVMs will definitely be
a cost-saving measure as far less personnel
will be involved. Here, technology will replace
manpower. The world is swiftly heading to the
epoch of nanotechnology anyways and Nigeria
cannot be left behind. With automation comes
perfection as machine take over human
functions and overcome the human propensity
for corruption.
Another very important advantage of these
EVMs will be in capturing in a tidy manner,
the number of political parties presented
as options on election day. In questioning
the large and increasing number of political
parties, several analysts have pointed to what
they claim would be the unwieldy nature
of ballot papers as all parties would have to
be captured and since elections have been
nullified in the past on grounds of omission of
a political party from the ballot paper, there is
a compulsion to include all parties, no matter
how many they are. The joy in the EVM is that
everything is done electronically and even if
the parties are 200 in number, an enlightened
voter would simply scroll to his choice much
the same way he would scroll his phone and
make his choice In order to minimise human interference,
the EVMs in Kaduna had a very important
function. In addition to the printed slips which
it produced and collected in a basement in the
machine, it also transmitted live result updates
via a virtual SIM card through any available
GSM network to the Kaduna State Electoral
Commission’s (KADSIEC) monitoring
room in the commission’s ICT centre and
simultaneously saving same on a server. Any
Nigerian savvy with the conduct of elections in
Nigeria will affirm that apart from the polling
booths were multiple thumb-printing may
take place, the most likely venue of electoral
fraud is at the collation centres which have
become notorious as ‘magical centres’ where
results from the polling units are changed.
A situation where the EVMs transmit their
results live to one single collation centre
and on a huge screen visible to all agents
completely eliminates the possibility of human
interference in the vote collation process. The
printed slips produced by the EVMs may then
be used as back-up in the event of litigation
or dispute.
In one fell swoop, what the EVM does is
to eliminate ballot box snatching, multiple
thumb printing, failure of card reader and
alteration of data between polling units and
collation centres! Perhaps this may be the
reason why Kaduna state broke the disgraceful
tradition where opposition parties rarely ever
won a single seat in state council elections.
It is on record that opposition PDP won at
least 5 LGAs, APC won 12 while elections
either didn’t hold in others or were declared
inconclusive.
However, the above-mentioned advantages
are not absolute as they also come with
inherent limitations. In a country like Nigeria
where electricity is still ephemeral, powering
these EVMs may come across as an issue
although solar-powered EVMs may solve this
challenge.
With a population of more illiterates than
the literate, one may wonder how these
EVMs will serve effectively. Everything lies in
enlightenment. If the card readers have more
or less become part of our electoral process,
one does not see why EVMs would be much of
a problem especially considered the ubiquitous
use of the mobile phone whose basic operation
may even present more challenge to the
unenlightened than an EVN where all a voter
need do is identify his/her party of choice and
press the button.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai may mean many
things to many people, his politics could
stink sometimes reflecting a very petty and
parochial personality but his administrative
acumen is not in doubt neither is his vision.
His pioneering work in changing Kaduna
state is acclaimed country-wide and the
introduction of the EVM in his tenure as
governor is another feather to his cap. He has
blazed a trail which Nigeria will do well to
follow intelligently

FIFA threatens NFF over Warri Wolves

Warri Wolves are on the verge of being
deducted three points and may likely be
relegated if they fail to pay former player
Adama Coulibaly N7,008,750.00 owed the
Malian in wages and remuneration.
The Nigerian National League side have
failed to comply with the decision passed
by the Dispute Resolution Chamber on
23rd March, 2017 and ordered to pay
a fine to the amount of CHF 5,000.00
(approximately N1.8 million) in addition to
the money owed the player.
Warri Wolves have failed to settle the
debt to the creditor Adama Coulibaly after
they were granted a final period of grace
of thirty days and the player has vowed
to write FIFA Disciplinary Committee that
three points should be deducted from the
team in the domestic championship.
Based on the ruling, the FIFA Disciplinary
Committee will decide on a possible
relegation of Warri Wolves to the third tier
if they fail to pay the amount due even after
the deduction of the three points.
The Nigerian Federation have received
a warning of possible exclusion from FIFA
competitions, including the upcoming
World Cup, if they fail to provide proof
that three points were deducted from Warri
Wolves.
The sponsor of Warri Wolves, Delta
State Government, have failed to act on
the warnings by Fifa and it appears they
deliberately want the club dead.

Court remands Sen Jang in prison

Former Governor and Senator
representing Plateau North Senatorial
Zone, Jonah Jang, would be remanded
in prison custody on the orders of a Jos
High Court, even as another anti-graft
agency withdrew what appeared like
duplicated charges against the embattled
lawmaker.
Jang was arraigned before Justice
Daniel Longji yesterday. Brought in a
white Toyota Haice bus and surrounded
by operatives of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,
and policemen, he wore a plain white
flowing robe, and acknowledged cheers
from his supporters and well-wishers.
Our correspondent reports that Jang
and a chief cashier, Yusuf Gyang Pam,
pleaded not guilty to the 12-count
charges brought against them.
The charges are on misappropriation,
diversion, criminal breach of trust and
dishonesty running into billions of naira.
Lead Counsel to Jang and Pam, Robert
Clarke, SAN, moved two applications for
the bail of the duo on self recognition.
In a counter-affidavit opposing the
application for bail, the Lead Prosecutor,
Rotimi Jacobs, said granting them
bail will lead to the intimidation of
prosecuting witnesses.
Subsequently, the charges of
misappropriation were read to Senator
Jang and Pam by the prosecution team
led by Jacobs, but they pleaded not guilty.
The bail application was adjourned and
Senator Jang was remanded in prison
custody until May 24 when the case
would come up for hearing.
But the Independent Corrupt Practices
and Other-Related Offences Commission,
ICPC, withdrew its own charges filed
against Jang, saying it was to avoid abuse
of court processes.
Jang and a cashier had been in the
custody of the EFCC in Abuja, following
their arrest over alleged misuse of funds.
While the commission had slammed
Jang with a 12-count charge on alleged
fraud, the ICPC had also filed a similar
charge against him.
But an Assistant Director at the ICPC,
Adesina Raheem, yesterday, moved an
application before Justice Longji for the
withdrawal of the charges.
He said, “My Lord, we got an
information that the EFCC has filed a
criminal charge against the defendant.
We had a discussion with the EFCC and
it was resolved that we should withdraw
our own charge to avoid abuse of court
processes. I will humbly seek the leave of
the court to withdraw the charge. That is
my application.”
Delivering his ruling, Justice Longji
struck out the charges, saying “the
prosecution has the right to withdraw the
application and the case is hereby struck
out.”
He had expressed optimism that the
ICPC may withdraw the charges because
the same court can’t entertain same
charges from both anti-graft agencies.

Says IGP Idris plotting to ‘frame and implicate’ him
Suspected cultists flown from Kwara to Abuja for the purpose
Senate sets up 10 man-committee to meet Buhari
It’s untrue, misleading and obstruction of Justice – Police Senate President, Senator
Bukola Saraki yesterday raised the
alarm over plans by the Inspector
General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to
implicate him and the Kwara State
governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed, in
the affairs of some cultist arrested
in Ilorin
According to him, “There is
an issue which I need to bring
to your attention very urgently.
Last night, my state governor, Dr.
Abdulfatai Ahmed revealed to me
an information at his disposal that
a group of suspects who had been
in police cells for several weeks for
cultism and whose investigation
had been concluded with
prosecution about to commence
under the state law based on the
advice of the Director of Public
Prosecution, DPP, and the Ministry
of Justice, were ordered to be
transferred to Abuja this morning.
“According to the information
available to the governor, the
Inspector General of Police,
Mr. Ibrahim Idris directed the
Commissioner of Police in Kwara
State to immediately transfer the
men to the Force Headquarters.
“The plan, as the governor was
made to understand, is that under
duress, the suspects would be
made to alter the statements they
already made in Ilorin. They will
then be made to implicate the
Kwara State government, and in
particular, myself in their new
statement.
“This plot is part of the strategy
by the IGP Idris to settle scores over
the declaration by this honourable
Chamber that he is not qualified
and competent to hold any public
office, within and outside the
country and that he is an enemy
of Nigerian democracy based on
his usual disrespectful conduct
towards lawful authorities.
“In my own View, this plot is
an act of desperation, blackmail,
intimidation, abuse of office and
crude tactics aimed at turning
our country into a Police State
where top officials cannot be
made to obey the law, follow due
process and subject themselves to
constituted authorities.
“I want to bring this dangerous
development to the attention of all
of you my colleagues, the entire
country and the international
community so that you can be
aware of the level of impunity
in our country and the danger it
constitutes to our democracy,” he
explained.
Reacting to Saraki’s submission,
Senator Godswill Akpabio
observed that the matter was very
serious and should not be swept
under the carpet, and that the
Senate should take it seriously by
investigating the matter.
In his contribution, Senator
Kabiru Marafa supported him
but added that they should first
see President Muhamedu Buhari
over the issue before taking further
steps. Also contributing, Senator
Bala Ibn Na Allah asked for the
Senate president to step aside and
allow Deputy Senate President Ike
Ekweremadu to preside as they
chose members of the committee
that would be meeting the
president
After contributions from
Senators Abdulahi Adamu,
Francis Alimekhena, Samuel
Anyanwu, Emmanuel Bwacha,
among others, the Senate set up a
10-member committee to be led by
the Senate president to meet with
Mr. President.
Members of the committee are
Senate Leader Ahmed Lawan,
Minority Leader Godswill
Akpabio, Chief Whip Olusola
Adeyeye, Magatagada Wamako,
Samuel Egwu, Oluremi Tinubu
and Danjuma Goje.
It would be recalled that IGP
Idris has been having a running
battle with the Senate under
Saraki, repeatedly refusing to
honour summons by the Senate
and accusing its members of
criminal behaviour.
However, the police authorities
have debunked the Senate
president’s statement, describing
it as untrue, misleading and
obstruction of justice, warning
him not to interfere with police
investigation.
In a statement signed by the Force
Public Relations Officer, PRO, ACP
Jimoh Moshood, the police said
its attention had been drawn to a
press statement “credited to the
Senate President, Federal Republic
of Nigeria, Senator Abubakar
Bukola Saraki of ‘plot against him
by IGP.
“The Nigeria Police Force is
shocked at the unbelievable
claims, unverifiable allegations
and unfounded accusations being
peddled against the IGP by the
Senate President, accusing the
Inspector General of Police, IGP
Ibrahim Idris of plot and strategies
against him to settle scores.
“The force therefore wishes to
categorically state that, there is
no iota of truth in the allegation
and false assertion by the Senate
President of plot against him by
the IGP to implicate the Kwara
State government and the Senate
president in any criminal matter.
Until investigation is concluded,
any person (s) or groups who tries
to interfere in the investigation
process by action or utterances
is committing an offence,” the
statement said.

It is never cheap to keep babymamas and let alone having 3 of them! that is what the very posh life of 27 years old music star, Wizkid is like.

The young and very financially successful music star already has 3 babymamas all who are older than him and the latest one being 36 years old is almost 9 years his senior! but hey, in the love world age is nothing but a freaking number! but sometimes numbers cause troubles!

It  has uncovered that Wizkid pays roughly over N500K for the upkeep of his kid with his babymamas but they are far from content from it as they call him a deadbeat father who refuses to take his fatherly duty (like taking his sons to soccer practise and having more babies with them, I suppose),

It is already a hard path that Wizkid has chose because all his children are still babies, the reality might hit alot harder in 20 years time when all the kids are grown and his life looks like world war 3 where all the 3 babymamas (assuming more dont join) become countries on their own battling for their share of his estate, what a world! Peep some of the comments of his babymama who was an American stripper before wizkid got her pregnant below:

Inc where you are bad who you are with, If you have kids make sure you rake care of them and spend time with them!!! No excuses.

Take care of your home first before impressing the streets.
