Ekiti Speaker announce indefinite shutdown of state assembly after ‘Strange Police Invasion’

The honorable speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Kola Oluwawole, has announced the indefinite shutdown of the state assembly, after the alleged invasion of heavily armed policemen to the premises, without an official request.

The speaker told Newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, that the anti-riot policemen were deployed around 9pm on Wednesday.
Oluwawole, who addressed newsmen in company of 17 other members accused members who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) prior to the July 14 governorship election as being responsible for the act.
However, when journalists visited the Assembly as of 10.00 am, the policemen have been withdrawn and the premises kept under lock and key.

The Speaker said one of the defected lawmakers allegedly forged a letter purportedly written by the Clerk, Mr. Tola Esan and addressed to the Police Commissioner, Mr. Bello Ahmed calling for the deployment
when such was unwarranted.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers; Hon Gboyega
Aribisogan, Sunday Akinniyi and Ebenezer Alagbada, decamped to APC owing to irreconcilable differences with Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Oluwawole drew the attention of the public to the antics of the opposition and their alleged resolve to cause confusion in the Assembly, saying there will be no legislative duty in the assembly until members resume from recess on October 8, 2018.

The Speaker ordered indefinite closure of the House pending the time security of lawmakers and staff of the hallowed chamber can be guaranteed.

Oluwawole said the Assembly in a letter dated July 26 and addressed to the CP, had lodged complaints of forgery against Hon. Aribisogan , and his call for illicit deployment of policemen in the assembly describing the action as not only shocking but a travesty in the country’s democratic history.

He said the Clerk of the House, Mr. Tola Esan , had on July 26 written a similar letter, dissociating himself from the letter purportedly written by him requesting police cover at the Assembly, urging the police authority to conduct unfettered investigations into the issue and bring the culprits to justice.

The Speaker said: “This is strange in democracy, for lawmakers to wake up and see unauthorised police deployment in the legislative arm of government. On Wednesday at about 9 pm, police authority deployed two detachments of heavily armed policemen to the premises of the Assembly. This came to us as a shock, because we are in recess and such action was unwarranted.

“The Assembly and the Clerk had reacted to a letter purportedly written by the latter calling for police deployment. We have told police authority in clear terms that such document should be treated like a forged document because the Clerk could not have written any official letter without consulting with me, he worked closely with my office as a Speaker.

“Before now, we had it on good authority that police were planning to provide cover for the three defected lawmakers to perpetrate violence in the Assembly and cause confusion as well as endanger the lives of our staff.

“As we speak, the lives of our people are no longer safe, because the police and APC thugs have laid siege to Ekiti Assembly and under this circumstance, our staff are no longer safe and we declare indefinite closure of the Assembly pending the time security can be guaranteed.

“We have not recovered from the harassment and abduction of our members by police during the July 14 election. But let me say expressly that such strange police deployment was unsolicited, unwarranted and ultra vires “, he said.

Lending credence to the Speaker’s position, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon. Samuel Omotoso, said 23 members of the Assembly were behind the Speaker and Governor Fayose.

“As you can see, we have 23 members of PDP out of 26 solidly behind the Speaker and our governor. We hereby pass votes of confidence on their leadership. We remain unshaken in our resolve to protect democracy.

“You can see that 18 of us are here, but the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sina Animasaun and Hon. Dada Celilcia, are in Lagos on official assignments, while Hon Titi Owolabi has just lost her hubby, Hon Ojo Ade Fajana is out of the country and Hon Tope Fasanmi travelled with the governor to Abuja, so we are united and strong”.

When called to react to the allegation, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu could not be reached, as his mobile phone was switched off.

Fayose reveals real reason for APC mass defection

Outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday revealed some reasons why the lawmakers in the National Assembly defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Nigerian Pilot had reported that no fewer than 15 senators of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Tuesday, defected from the party, with the defectors citing crisis and factions as the reasons for their defection, saying they cannot continue to pursue their political careers under the ruling party.

Reacting to the move, Fayose insisted that the defection of the lawmakers was long overdue, and also they did it due to their love for Nigerians.

Speaking during a visit to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Fayose commended the lawmakers who defected from the APC.

According to Fayose, “It is long overdue. All the shenanigans in Ekiti, all the manipulations in Ekiti, this was one of the reasons they did that to make sure they intimidate and prevent them from carrying out this national defection.

“They are defecting because of Nigerians, not PDP. Just that PDP is the credible alternative.

“If you look at killings, nobody even counts anymore. It has gone beyond counting. What they do represents the feeling of Nigerians.”

Court adjourns Melaye’s case until Aug. 9

A Senior Magistrate’s Court in Kogi has adjourned the trial of Sen. Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District and two others in the case illegal possession of firearms and arms dealing, until Aug. 9.

Senior Magistrate, Sulyman Abdullah adjourned the case at Thursday’s adjourned sitting for commencement of trial as the prosecution could not open its case due to absence of its lead counsel, Dr Alex Izinyon.

Mr Theophilus Oteme, the Officer in Charge of legal department of Kogi command of the Nigeria Police, told the court that the lead prosecuting counsel, Izinyon had an emergency call on Wednesday that made it impossible for him to appear in court on Thursday.

Oteme therefore applied for an adjournment until Sept. 23 for the commencement of trial in view of the absence of the lead prosecutor more so that one of the defendants (Melaye) was not in court.

However, the lead counsel to Melaye, Chief Mike Ozekhome, represented by Mr Yemi Mohammed, told the court that he had on good authority that Melaye was attacked in Gwagwalada on his way to Lokoja.

“I learnt that he was attacked yesterday (Wednesday) in Gwagwalada on his way to Lokoja to attend his trial and up till now, I have not been able to reach him, I don’t know where he is at the moment,’’ he said.

In his ruling, Abdullah turned down the application by the prosecution for a long adjournment to Sept. 23.

He said that the Kogi State Administration of Criminal Justice Law did not allow for an adjournment beyond two weeks in a criminal case.

The Senior Magistrate, therefore, adjourned the case until Aug. 9 and ordered that the bail earlier granted to Melaye continued.

Abdullah, however, ruled that the other two accused persons, Nuhu Salihu, known as “small’’ and Kabiru Seidu also known as “Osama’’, standing trial on a seven-count charge bordering on illegal possession of firearms and arms dealing, should continue with their remand in police custody.(NAN)

Offa Robbery: Read Senate President Saraki’s letter to IGP Idris

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has indicated that he would not report to the police as directed in a letter by the Inspector General, Ibrahim Idris.

Mr Saraki gave the indication in a response to the police chief dated July 24.

Nigerian Pilot reported the summons by the police for the senator to appear on Tuesday morning at 8:00a.m.

Here is Mr Saraki’s response to the police letter of Monday. The response was clearly written after the Tuesday’s Senate sitting.

In it, the Senate president said he was aware President Muhammadu Buhari had directed the police to obtain written statement from Mr Saraki or send personnel to question him if he is needed for questioning. .

“You will recall that Mr. President had earlier directed as a courtesy to this office, that in the event of any request for further information from me, you should either send your personnel to my office or obtain a written response from me,” he told the police chief.

“I request you therefore, to please assign your personnel who need information on this matter, to meet me in my office, immediately after plenary today, or tomorrow or any other day at your convenience,” he wrote in the letter.

Mr Saraki also expressed concern about his safety following Tuesday’s siege by security

Read the full letter below:

RE: LETTER OF INVITATION

I wish to acknowledge your letter, ref CR: 3000/IGPSEC/ABJ/VOL.,131/707, dated 23rd of July 2018.

  1. For the record, I should mention that received your letter at8:30pm on Monday 23rd July, inviting me for the next day at 8am. The two lawyers whose advice I needed were in Calabar and Lagos and had to travel to Abuja today.
  1. As you are aware, the Deputy President of the Senate was unable to leave his residence this morning to preside over the senate having being prevented from doing so by security agents. If he had been able to preside over the senate, I would have honoured your invitation. The absence of both presiding officers would have voided the sitting of the senate. This would have been damaging to National interest, particularly in the light of very important legislative matters that needed to be addressed in view of the imminent recess of the National Assembly. These included consideration of the Electoral Bill, which was incidentally passed today.
  1. You will recall that Mr. President had earlier directed as a courtesy to this office, that in the event of any request for further information from me, you should either send your personnel to my office or obtain a written response from me.
  1. I need to place on record as well, that following the incident of being harassed and threatened at my residence by the police early this morning, I am deeply concerned over my physical security.
  1. I request you therefore, to please assign your personnel who need information on this matter, to meet me in my office, immediately after plenary today, or tomorrow or any other day at your convenience.
  1. Thank you.

Mr Saraki was initially invited for questioning in early June after some of the Offa robbery suspects allegedly confessed to being sponsored by him. But this approach was later abandoned by the police who asked him to turn in a written response to the allegations instead. The Senate President consequently sent a written response to the allegations. The police had been largely mum about the matter, until the Monday invitation.

In his initial response on Monday, Mr Saraki denied all allegations of involvement in the planning or execution of the Offa robbery in April which caused the death of over a score people.

He alleged that the police were involved in an elaborate, federal government-backed scheme aimed at railroading him into remaining at the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Although the police believe they have enough evidence to nail Mr Saraki for his alleged role in the crimes in Offa, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, however disagreed. In a letter to the police, Mr Malami’s office said it reviewed the evidence of the police and found there was no evidence that linked Mr Saraki with the crime suspects.

The police have not reacted publicly since Tuesday that Mr Saraki sent his latest letter.

Police deflates Premium Times Online publication, says Saraki still has case to answer

The Nigerian Police Force has debunked a publication on Premium Times Online that there was no evidence that linked Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and Kwara State Governor, Abdulfattah Ahmed to the armed robbery attack that left 31 persons dead in Offa, Kwara State, in April this year.

Reacting, Police said that Offa banks robbery case is still under investigation, that Senator Saraki has case to answer, adding that the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP of the Federation advice did not exonerate the Senate President, but only called for further investigations into the matter.

In a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja, Police asserted that it is in the course of further investigations into the case that a letter of invitation dated 23rd July, 2018 was sent to the Senate President to appear on 24th July, 2018 at 8.00am before the Investigation Team at Intelligence Response Team office, Guzape Junction, Abuja.

“It is incumbent on the Force to educate the writer of the story that the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP of the Federation in the legal advice did not restrain or restrict the Force from investigating further, the indictments against the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki and the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfattah Ahmed by the principal suspects arrested in connection with the Offa bank robbery of 5th April, 2018.

“Consequently, the Force is hereby re-affirming that the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki has case to answer by virtue of the facts that the statement submitted by the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki earlier to the Investigation Team was not explicit and detailed enough, and was discovered to require further clarifications and interrogation.

“And coupled with the fact the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki in his statement, claimed that the full text of the statement of the suspects who indicted him in their confessional statements to the Police was not shown to him. It is therefore, imperative for the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki to report to the Police to make further statement after sighting the full text of the statement of the suspects.

“Furthermore, the Force wishes to inform the media and the public that investigation is still ongoing on the Offa bank robbery and the indictment against the Senate President from the confessions of some the arrested principal suspects, and that, there is no  political influence or consideration in the matter.

“The media and the Police are veritable partners in crime prevention, protection of lives and property, and absolute compliance with the rule of law. The media are implored not to allow the pages of their esteemed publications be used to misinform the public” it stated.

ALLIANCE for New Nigeria Party, ANN, has described the recent defection of APC Senators and House of Representatives members as a selfish move that should not be accepted by all Nigerians. Interim National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Emmanuel Dania, in a statement, explained that the reasons given by the defecting legislators and their sponsors irrespective of their political affiliation are mere fallacy. According to Dania, ‘‘the move is
for them to continue to partake in sharing the national cake, occupy juicy position and loot the nation’s treasury at the detriment of millions of hungry Nigerians. ‘‘Nigerians must resist every attempt for the selfish lawmakers to elongate their dubious stay at the National Assembly because they are there to enrich themselves and their generation yet unborn,’’ he said. The ANN Interim National Publicity Secretary stated that their defection is not in the interest of the nation’s infrastructural, economic and social
development but for them to remain in their corrupt political activities which must be resisted by Nigerians. Besides, Mr. Dania said that ANN has already provided a platform for Nigerians to enjoy good governance through its ideology, policies and programmes that will benefit the generality of the people if elected into government come 2019. He then advised Nigerians, irrespective of tribes and religion to support ANN towards realising the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers. ANN, the party chieftain pointed out would lead to the birth of a new Nigeria where people would be liberated and fully gain their freedom from oppression and bid farewell to poverty that have seriously enslaved the masses and wreak havoc to their destiny. Emmanuel Dania explained that ‘‘under ANN, jobs and wealth would be created, power economy, and infrastructure would be improved while the country would take its rightful place among the comity of nations through honest and transparent governance, devoid of corruption.’’

AS STAFF of News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, yesterday made true their threat by embarking on a 3-day warning strike to drive home their demand for a better condition of service, the management has vowed to employ the ‘No Work No Pay’ policy if the workers refuse to return to work within the shortest possible time. The workers, under the umbrella of Nigerian Union of Journalist, NUJ, Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreation Services Employees, AUPCTRE, and Radio Television and Theatre Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, who grounded the activities of the Nigerian news agency, listed poor conditions of service, nonpayment of promotion arrears for 2012 and 2017, shortfall in payment of promotion arrears of 2014, 2015 and 2016 among many others. They lamented that the situation which they found themselves in is do dire that they are either indebted to one bank, microfinance or cooperative societies in order to make ends meet. While threatening to embark on an indefinite strike if nothing is been done to assuage their plight, the protesting workers appealed to the Federal Government and the management of the agency to look into staff welfare, better remuneration and improved conditions of service, commensurate with the level of enormous work put in by the staff of the agency. Meanwhile, the Managing Director of NAN, Bayo Onanuga, in his reaction described the workers demonstration as a misdirected anger, stressing that all the eight demands presented by workers to the management were all frivolous, they were uncalled for, their anger and everything were misdirected. In my response to them, I told them that NAN cannot give anybody any new condition of service other than the one as approved by the Head of service and Ministry of Budget. Mr. Onanuga, while noting the government policy of ‘No Work No Pay’ as the next step which the Agency will undertake to rescue the situation, maintained that all the demands has been taken care of by the management.
“There is a government rule that we will apply, which is ‘No Work No Pay’ and to me, even if they go on strike, in which generally, journalist don’t go on strike. If they like, they can shut down for six months, after all our business has gone beyond occupying physical space like this.” He said The aggrieved workers told journalist that the condition of service currently in use in NAN is 16 years old and that the content is obsolete; despite the public service rule which allows MDA’s to review the conditions every 5years. “The stipend of N5,000 paid monthly to editorial and marketing staff to augment transportation
is now 48 months overdue. All privileges relating to bus drop offs of reporters at assignment venues have been cancelled. “Payment of repatriation allowance for foreign correspondents as well as the wrongly computed step differences that were to be paid to staff and the non-payment of drivers’ over time owed for over three years. “Training of staff to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, better funding of the agency by the FG among others.” The agency’s staff had threatened to go on strike last September over the negligence of their welfare by the management.

Japanese government has redeemed its pledge to Nigerian government, as it has donates 13 ambulances.

The country’s ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Yutaka Kikuta made the donation yesterday in Abuja when he delivered the keys of the vehicle to the Minister of Health, Professor IssacAdewole.

Kikuta said that the delivery of the 12 ambulances was the last batch of the 43 ambulances given to the Ministry of Health last year June, adding that it was under Japan’s MON-Project Grant Aid for Provision of Japanese SME’s products.

“Japan is a country that keeps her words. Around this time last year, 30th June, 2017, the government of Japan handed over to the Ministry of Health 31 ambulances in the first batch of delivery, out of the total 43 ambulances.  These ambulances were meant to be distributed to every state of Nigeria and the FCT,” the ambassador said,

She explained that the ambulance project was unique because it was aimed to serve people in very critical condition when the availability of an ambulance and rapid response could mean the difference between life and death.

The Japanese government further said that it had extended the grant aid of USD4.1 million to Nigeria’s government to contribute to the enhancement of health care system in the country.

Minister of Health, Professor IssacAdewole, who received the ambulances on behalf of Nigerian government, said that the former Japanese Ambassador had made a pledge after donating 36 ambulances in 2017 and some facilities were left out and he offered to close the gap and provide ambulances, as he thanked the Japanese government for keeping the promise.

“Nigeria has benefited extensively from the Japanese government in the power sector, providing and upgrading the laboratory at NCDC, upgrading some PHCs and investing in education.

“We want to assure you that we would use these ambulances well, we already have created an avenue for supporting emergency care.”

Five percent of the funds will go into offering services in emergency care. The 12 ambulances are to be shared to 12 tertiary hospitals, six federal medical centres, namely federal medical centres in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa, Katsina, Keffi, Nasarawa, Lokoja, Kogi, Nguru, Yobe State and Abuja.

Rape case: Ex-Bayelsa governor’s aide appears in court

Chief Richard Kpodo, a former Security Adviser to the former governor of Bayelsa, Timipre Sylva, was on Friday docked before a Magistrates’ Court in Yenagoa, for alleged rape.

The accused was charged with unlawfully detaining one Teke Blessing on June 20 at Etegwe, Yenagoa, with an intention to defile her.

He was also charged with raping the said Blessing on the same day.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

His counsel, Funilaifa Seibokuro, urged the court to grant the accused bail, which was opposed by the prosecuting counsel, Ayibatonye Jumbo.

Seibokuro said that the offence for which Kpodo was arraigned was a bailable one, and assured that his client, a well-known politician, would be available to face trial.

He also said that Kpodo had medical challenges and pleaded that he should be granted bail on self-recognition.

The prosecuting counsel opposed the bail noting that the accused would interfere and influence the prosecution witness and, hence, jeopardise his trial.

He also faulted the claim by the defence counsel that the accused had medical challenge as there was no medical report to support it.

The court, presided over by Mrs E.T.M. Ere, adjourned the case until Aug. 10, for ruling on the bail application and ordered that the accused to be remanded in prison custody.

Kwankwaso’s defection will not affect APC, says Ganduje

The Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje ‎ says the defection of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso and other lawmakers to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would not affect the chances of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.‎

This is contained in a statement signed by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor and made available to newsmen on Friday in Kano.

‎”Their defection will not constitute any problem to our great party, the APC, at all levels. People should keep their eyes (open) to what will happen during election.

“Our dear President has been doing the needful in terms of developing the nation, coupled with his efforts in efficient service delivery.

“Good governance is at its peak and the war against corruption is successfully being waged.

“I want you to go and study the situation on ground in Kano, his (Kwankwaso ‘s) defection does not change the political mood in the state. Nobody cares to be disturbed by their action,” Ganduje said.

The governor said when his predecessor was in the APC his intention was to vie for Presidency adding, “when it appeared to him, in black and white, that there is no vacancy in the Villa, he now decided to leave on his own.”

He said that Kwankwaso should be ready to battle it out at the polls next year.

Ganduje said when Kwankwaso secures a presidential ticket from the party he cross carpets to, then he should wait and see how we will slug it out with him.

He said that when the time comes, the senator would fully understand how popular and loveable President Muhammadu Buhari is.

“Kano will give more votes to our President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 , than what he got in 2015 election.

“From the 2015 election to date, those who could not vote because of age limit, are now grown up, meaning they will now be eligible to vote.

“Therefore, President Buhari stands the chance to get five million votes from Kano State by grace of Almighty Allah,” he said.(NAN)

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged supporters to slow down further campaigns for his re-election as they amount as a breach of the rules of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Mr. Femi Adesina, the media adviser to President Buhari sued for patience on Saturday in a statement. However, supporters are free to publicize the various achievements of the Buhari administration, he said.

According to INEC time-table, party primaries for the Presidential, Governorship, Federal and State Elections would begin on August 18 to end on October 7, 2018, while that of the FCT Area Council Elections will commence on September 4 to end on October 27, 2018.

The campaigns by political parties for presidential election would begin November 18, while that for the National Assembly Elections would start December 1. Governorship, State Assembly and FCT Area council candidates are not expected to mount the rostrum before 2 December.

The last day for the submission of nomination forms to INEC is December 3, 2018 for Presidential and National Assembly Elections; December 17 for Governorship and State Assembly and December 14, 2018 for the FCT Area Council Elections.

Presidential Election would hold on February 16, 2019, while Governorship and State Assembly Elections would be conducted on March 2, 2019.

Here is Adesina’s statement: “It has been observed that some fervent supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari have begun what may be interpreted as political campaigns in their advocacies and advertisements in the mass media.

“We appreciate their enthusiasm, borne out of desire to garner support for an administration that is actuated by nothing else, other than service for motherland, but we hereby appeal for patience, so that the game can be played according to the rules.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has a timetable for political campaigns, and we urge committed supporters round the country (and beyond) to be mindful of such. There will be ample time ahead to trumpet the good works of the Buhari administration, and solicit re-election, all for the good of our country and her people.

“While a chronicle of the achievements of the administration is in order now, outright canvasing may amount to jumping the gun. We are an administration committed to due process and scrupulous respect for rules, law and order.

“We appreciate our massive supporters nationwide, and urge them to exercise restraint till the race commences officially as stipulated by law.”

Gone are the days when mothers crack their brain on what forms their menu to keep their family healthy and happy. But in case you still get it tough on how to make your family to salivate, you need not worry because weekend Pilot kitchen presents enough tips to guild and enrich your kitchen. So many never knew they could convert their leftover food to a new and fresh food. Yes, it is possible. Think of how to convert your leftover rice to rice pudding and yam to yam ball. This will definitely reduce the quantity of wasted food at home. The emphasis for this week is on yam balls, as it has wider usage more than former (rice pudding). Yam is known to
be rich in carbohydrate. It is a good source of dietary fiber, potassium, vitamin C, manganese and vitamin B6. Yam is a large tuber with rough external skin and a tree-like bark and a hard pale white interior. It is creamy or sometimes firm when cooked. Yam can be boiled white and eaten with spicy stew or red oil. It could be prepared as porridge and sometimes with vegetable. In whichever, the taste is awesome. It’s obvious many know little or nothing about converting yam into balls just like the bean cake (akara). Well, it is not a big deal as it is easy to prepare, economical and rich. To prepare, you can use fresh tuber of yam or leftover yam, but we are limiting the focus on LEFTOVER YAM

Ingredients:
• Leftover yam • Water to warm or boil till soft • Salt to taste • 100gm butter • 100 ml milk • ½ tea spoon garlic powder( optional) • 1 tablespoon of cornflour mixed with 3 table spoons of water • Breadcrumbs • Oil to fry • Ice fish (optional) • 1 Bulb of onion (optional)

Stages before you cook
First Stage Cut fish to your preferable size, wash with salty water to make sure it’s thoroughly washed. Put in a clean pot, spice it and then steam for about 10 to 12 minute to tender. Then transfer to a bowl. Second stage: Put the yam in a clean pot and add reasonable quantity of water (according to quantity of the yam). Though the yam has been cooked before, but this time it will be allowed to boil till soft and then drain out the water. Mask or pound yam together with the fish, fresh paper, add milk, butter, garlic and add salt if necessary. Roll into balls and dip into the conflour mixture. Next, spread the breadcrumbs on a plate and roll the ball on it, coating it evenly. Then fry till it turns golden brown. This actually needs deep frying.

Of course, these were just friendly, small air kisses by the cheek. After all, Meghan and Harry are close with Nacho—he even attended their wedding back in May.

This also wouldn’t be the first time Meghan and Harry have kissed at a polo match. It happened while they were still dating as the two snuck in a smooch at the 2017 Audi Polo Challenge.

While the royals normally keep their public displays of affection to a minimum, Meghan isn’t exactly breaking protocol. After all, Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, kissed his father, Prince Charles, while presenting him with a prize at the Guards Polo Club in 1987.
