An official of defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, identified as Femi Adewunmi, yesterday died in Oke-Eletu, Ikorodu, Lagos while trying to fix a problem on a pole.
A member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation, the deceased was said to have fallen from a pole while correcting an electrical fault and hit his head on a rock.
Investigation revealed that before people around could rush him to a nearby hospital; he has already surrendered to death.
He was, however, buried on December 6, at a cemetery.
According to findings, the late Femi recently got married and has an eight months old baby boy.
According to a member of his Jehovah’s Witnesses church, the late Femi was part of thousands of people who converged at Lekki, Lagos for a three days district convention.
He was also seen few days to his death. “We were together at district convention on November 22. He even gave a discourse in one of the days. We were also together at group witnessing this Sunday being first Sunday of December and later attended meeting together at 4pm, only to hear the ugly news of his death now. Is it not a big lost?” the member questioned.
The middle-aged deceased was described by many as an easy-going person, jovial, hardworking and sincere.
