Bayelsa State government has called on the founding fathers to embrace prayers and seek continuous support for the growth and development of the state.

Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, Rtd, made the call at a praise Dinner Night organised by Bayelsa Christian Forum, BCF, a non-denominational Christian body in Yenagoa.

He said that before he assumed office, he had personally identified that key players in the administration are determined to ensure that all Bayelsans are carried along; adding that the developmental challenges facing the state cannot be solved at the same time.

According to the deputy governor, the administration has high regards for the clergy and their role in nation building, stressing that, the creation of Bayelsa State is an unexpected blessing and an opportunity to improve the lives of Bayelsans.

Earlier, the chairman of the forum who doubled as chairman of PDP, Col. Sam Inokoba, said, “since the inception of the Gov. Dickon’s administration, the state has experienced profound peace, stating that one of the reasons for the forum was to raise an alter of praise to God and provoke continuous peace and unity in the state.”

Dr. Amba Ambaowie, one of the founding fathers, expressed regret that they have been neglected and abandoned by the past administrations, despite the time and energy dissipated for the state’s creation.

He expressed hope on Dickson’s administration, which will make a remarkable difference in their welfare, stressing that, Bayelsa needs good roads hospitals, schools, and other social amenities.
