 Kuje Area Council boss commends Jonathan’s administration

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Hon. Ishaku Shaban Tete has applauded the efforts of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan within the period of two years in office.

Hon. Tete, in an interview with newsmen in Kuje, noted that despite all challenges trailing the present administration, it has performed credibly well.

He said that for the nation to sustain democracy for 14 consecutive years without military intervention is a great achievement and worth celebrating, adding that if the trend continues in this pace, the nascent democracy would get to maturity in the nearest future.

The Area Council boss asserted that the beauty of democracy in any nation is that, in the face of all troubles and rancour, the programmes and activities of government still continue for the benefit of the citizens.

Hon. Tete, who was sworn in as a council chairman some weeks ago in Kuje, promised to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the area, maintaining that portable water, construction of feeder roads and provision of scholarship for the less privileged will be his major priority.

According to him, “My administration will as well embarked on youth and women empowerment to see to it that the rate of poverty in the area would be highly minimized.”

He said that his administration will continue with the SURE-P which was introduced early this year in Kuje Area Council by the immediate past administration of Hon. Danladi Etsu Zhin, with a view to reducing poverty in the area.

He pledged with all sincerity that they would do all they could to the best of their ability, to ensure that dividends of democracy are delivered to better the lives of the people in the area.
