Nigeria home based team are currently in can ahead of the 3rd edition of the Africa Nations Championship which commence in South Africa from January 11 and end February 1, 2014.
The Super Eagles coach, however admitted that being in camp with his players, is one of the sacrifices he has to make in the interest of the country, as they prepare for a debut appearance at the African Nations Championship.
“I will love to be with my family in the U.S. and hang out with them, but we are here as part of the sacrifice we have to make.”
“It is difficult to be in camp during Christmas. It has been like that since we took over.
“We have had three Christmas and New Year in the camp, what can we do.”
Coach Keshi led the Super Eagles to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in February and the Nelson Mandela Cup also in the year.
The Former Super Eagles Captain said while preparations for the championship is on a high speed, he will not promise Nigerians that he will win the trophy following the mass movement of players for greener pasture in Europe and would not be available for the mundial.
He however called on Nigerians to support the team in terms of prayers as they did during the Nations Cup in the rainbow nation.
