Following what they referred to as excellent transformation and dynamic leadership experienced in the country, a group of youths under the aegis of Association of Village Youth Presidents of Nigeria, AVYPN, Akwa Ibom State, has passed a vote of confidence on President Goodluck Jonathan.

The group also reserved their confidence in the president of the Senate, Senator David Mark and Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State.

In a communiqué signed by 43 members of the group yesterday, they warned all those in the habit of showing disrespect to the office of the president to stop such action forthwith, and said they were taking the decision based on the visible developmental strides that are transforming the entire state and country.

“AVYP congratulates the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) for the development strides made across the nation, and for keeping the country together despite the turbulence of the time.

They, however, pleaded with the government to do more for the youths such as the establishment of training centres in every community where they can be trained for positive actions in the society.
