Shekarau’s camp denies visit to Kwankwaso

Ex-governor Ibrahim Shekarau’s camp in the All Progressive Congress APC has dissociated itself from the visit of some top members of the defunct All Nigeria People Party, ANPP to the incumbent Kano State governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Former chairman of the Kano State chapter of the defunct ANPP, Alh Sani Hashim Hotoro said such visit was out of context as there was no meeting ever held for the visit to take place.

According to Hotoro, no political party will deny willing members and it would be foolhardy for  a stranger to enter a house already built and wants to lord over those that built the house, adding that it shall not be done in Kano APC.

Fielding questions from newsmen in Kano yesterday, the ex-chairman reiterated the stand of Shekarau and his loyalists/followers that they are staying put in the party and as such, they would not allow themselves to be treated as second fiddle in the party they strived hard to see materialize.

It is for that reason the state APC leadership under Shekarau is unshakable and non- negotiable, he further enthused.

“Let anybody that joined latterly or those willing to join the APC be floor numbers like others as the party, already has its leadership in place under Shekarau, pending when elections into party offices are held”, he stated.

Meanwhile, some members of the defunct ANPP have already backed the idea that Kwankwaso is the leader of the party in Kano while others were antagonistic to a point of yelling that should Shekarau decide to join the People Democratic Party PDP, they are ever ready to follow him to the party.

It was penultimate last week Thursday when some top members of the defunct ANPP, including the former Elders’ Committee chairman, Alh. Bashir Othman Tofa, Sen. Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, Sheikh Ibrahim Kalil and the former state secretary of the melted ANPP, Rabiu Bako who many described as people of double standard visited Kwankwaso and endorsed his leadership of the APC in Kano.
