CBN sensitises Nasarawa people on cashless policy

In a bid to enhance its cashless policy, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has taken its sensitisation programme to the people of Nasarawa state.

Addressing participants at a workshop held in Lafia, the state capital on the need to embrace the policy, Mr. Aaron Yeduma of the share services department of CBN called on the people of the state to embrace the cashless policy so as to enhance transactions.

He explained that the 3-day workshop which drew participants from different works of life, was aimed at improving the nation’s economy in line with global best practices.

Yeduma stressed that the policy if properly implemented would reduce corruption in the Nigerian system, armed robbery and high level monetisation of the electoral process, urging the people of the state to, as a matter of urgency, embrace the policy.

“We encouraged the public to embrace the cashless policy of CBN most especially as it is coming to Nasarawa state like in other states of the Federation”

According to him, the policy was already operational in Lagos, Kano,

Rivers state and Abuja among six other states of the federation.

In a remark, the Nasarawa state commissioner of commerce and industries, Emmanuel Brass Iyaji who declared the workshop open described the policy as timely and assured of the state government support in making the policy a success in the state.

“We are supporting everything CBN is doing and enjoining our people here and we urged all our people to avail themselves of the opportunity” He noted.
