The recent sacking of four ministers by President Goodluck Jonathan has been described as a right step in the right direction.
National Coordinator of Civic Education For Global Transformation Initiative (CEFTI), Ralph Ndulaka said the sack has amply demonstrated to all and sundry that the president is indeed a listening leader
‘We believe that to sustain the momentum for development already built by this administration, the president should appoint new men and women of integrity , courage , patriotism and requisite professional acumen to fill the vacant cabinet positions as the appointment will go a long way strengthening the transformation agenda.’
While commending the president for suspending the governor of central bank of Nigeria, SanusiLamidoSanusi, CEFTI called on the president not to hesitate to wield the big stick especially on overbearing appointees in his administration who may think they are above the laws of the land.
On criticism against the military unleash on Boko Haram by the government, Ndulaka said those criticising are not helping the people of the region as the destruction should be confronted headon.
‘We condemn as despicable ongoing attempts by self serving desperate politicians to politicitiseongoing efforts by government to contain the Boko Haram insurgency.’
