Group commends minister on performance

Coalition of Civil Society Group of Nigeria has commended the Minister of Science and Technology, over her achievements in making Nigeria a major ICT nation.
Chairman of the group, who is also the group communiqué drafting committee chairman, comrade Abudulwasiu Saliu gave the commendation recently in Abuja.
Saliu said the leadership style of the Minister has ensured total transformation of the technology sector, making Nigeria the fastest growing ICT nation in Africa.
“The vision of the Ministry is to make Nigeria, in the nearest future, an acknowledged member of the fast developing scientific and technologically progressive nations of the world and to be Africa’s leader in scientific and technological development is in the pipeline” he said.
The group also commended the Minister for the suspension of the Managing Director, Engr. Timasaniyu Ahmed-Rufai, saying his suspension has come at the right time to pave ways for investigations over financial misappropriation.
“We urged the minister not to hide the reports of the audit set up to investigate the activities of the former MD. Nigerians are interested to know the outcome of this report; that includes all the events that are not accounted for”.
