Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has approved the nomination of three delegates to represent the three senatorial districts of the state at the forthcoming National Conference.
This is contained in a statement by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Sani Umar, on Tuesday in Sokoto.
According to the statement, the delegates include Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, a gubernatorial candidate of Democratic People’s Party (DPP) in the 2007 and 2011 elections.
Others are Mr Bello Suleiman, a former managing director of the defunct National Electric Power Authority and Prof. A’isha Madawaki, a lecturer at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
“Gov. Wamakko urged them to exhibit high sense of responsibility and commitment which they are known for, so that the entire people of the state can be proud of them.
“He expressed confidence that the delegates will distinguish themselves and justify the confidence reposed in them,” the statement said.
