Why we’re winning war against crime in Ondo – IGP

INSPECTOR General of Police, IGP, Mr Muhammed Abubakar has described Ondo State Police Command as one of the best police formations in the country, saying the Command has been proactive, efficient and effective in tackling crime and criminality in the state.
Abubakar who attributed the feat to the leadership quality and professionalism exhibited by the state Police boss, Mr Patrick Dukumor and his management team, said pro-activeness and necessary security strategies put in place have helped to checkmate crime and criminality and brought them to a tolerable level.
The Police boss ,who spoke through the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone 11 comprising Ondo, Osun and Oyo states, Mr David Omojola during the AIG’s official familiarisation tour of Ondo State, said CP Patrick Dukumor had done the Nigerian Police proud, particularly in the areas of crime detection, prevention and control in the Sunshine State.
Addressing officers and men of the Command at the Police Headquarters along Igbatoro road Akure, Omojola hinted that IGP Abubakar is committed to the welfare of the police and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by rising up to the challenges of the security situation in the state.
Earlier, the State Police Commissioner ,Mr Patrick Dukumor while delivering his welcome address, commended the AIG for the visit and used the occasion to enumerate the problems confronting the Command, including lack of barrack accommodation, modern equipment, vehicles for patrol ,arms and ammunition as well as inadequate manpower.
