Bayelsa State Government has pledged support for completion of digitisation of the Niger Delta Television, NDTV, a state broadcast station which will be among the first in the country.
Commissioner of information and orientation, Deacon Markson Fefegha made the assertion when the management of NDTV paid him a courtesy visit in his office, state secretariat Yenagoa.
The commissioner commended the NDTV, General Manager, Mr. Tamarakuro Oweife and the technical team for transforming the station making the state proud by winning laurels at the just concluded productivity awards.
Deacon Fefegha promised the ministry’s continued support, ensuring that the staffs have good incentives, which will encourage them to do more, urging them not to relent in their transforming duties.
He therefore appealed to the landlords of Gbaraintoru community to desist from encroaching on government lands, stating that it will provide good atmosphere for operation of the stations.
Speaking earlier, the GM Mr. Owiefe said, the purpose of the visit was to keep the commissioner updated on the stations activities.
He appealed to the state government for provision of operational vehicles and other staff welfare scheme, massive training of staff and incessant encroachment of land owners withdrawal.
