Two Super Eagles players, Brown Ideye and John Ogu have taken to the social media to express their disappointment over the provisional list of 30 players for Brazil 2014 World Cup which did not include them.

While Brown Ideye reacted calmly to his exclusion on his Twitter handle, the 25-year-old did not hide his disappointment at the situation.

He, however, accepted his fate calmly, stating that it is a wakeup call for him to improve on his game.

“I’m sorry all my fans that things turn out this way, it’s make me believe that i have to work very hard, improvement of my game and improving on my role as a strike,” Ideye tweeted shortly after the squad announcement.

“So disappointed but life those not end here,” he continued. “Last thing I will do is to wish my friends BAD!”

“We are more than teammates, we are like a family in and out the pitch. That is why we are moving forward, wish you guys all the best.”

The Dynamo Kyiv striker stated that he will continue to support the team, adding that he has received several messages of support from his fans and teammates.

He, however, urged his teammates who were selected to do the nation proud.

“I will be flying my GREEN every match day,” he tweeted.

“Some of the brothers has been calling my phone and we have be talking, my phone is so hot right now.

“Some are surprised and shock, I told them to relax and focus on the task ahead of them. And they should go there and achieve something good for our country.”

John Ogu, on his part, expressed his disappointment at being left out of Nigeria’s 30-man preliminary squad for the World Cup, but vowed to come back stronger and rallied support for the squad.

The Academica midfielder appeared to have paid the price of irregular football with just 8 appearances this season and was naturally disappointed by his exclusion.

“Gutted I didn’t make the preliminary squad,” Ogu posted on his Instagram handle. “Nigeria is blessed with a lot of players; we all can’t make the list. Every player wants to be at the World Cup.”

Ogu expressed his appreciation to Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi, who have him his debut, and asked Nigerians to support the team.

“I want to thank coach Keshi for the opportunities he gave me. I remain grateful for all. He made my dream come true as a player to serve my great nation which I’m always proud of.

“Thanks everyone for your support. Let’s pray for the lads. Let’s support the team as much as we can because I believe in the manager and the squad selected.

“We are family. I will come back stronger.”
