Four persons have been confirmed dead in a motor accident which occurred on the Okene-Lokoja Road on Tuesday night.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Godwin Omiko, made the confirmation to news men in Lokoja on Wednesday.
He said that the accident occurred a few minutes before midnight at Ogaminana in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi.
Omiko said that the accident involved a Peugeot 806 with registration number Katsina JBY 84 PGT, and an articulated vehicle with registration number QFB 108 QC.
He said that two other persons sustained injuries from the crash.
The commander blamed the accident on wrongful overtaking.
Omiko said that the injured persons were taken to the General Hospital, Okene, while the corpses were deposited at the mortuary of the same hospital.
He said the obstruction caused by the accident had been cleared while full investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing.
