Jos main market authority administrator , David Ja Gwong has advised traders who still loitered at the Ahamadu Bello way waiting for the state government to reopen the bombed terminus market to relocate to the Rukuba road satellite market or the Kwararafa market in order to decongest the streets .
He disclosed that there were 1,070 shops not occupied at the Jos satellite market.
Gwong stated this yesterday in Jos in an interview with newsmen after hosting the 1st Exhibition of Fashion / Beverage / Food / Building materials at the market premises at Kabong.
It could be recalled that Governor Jonah Jang had after the explosion said that the Terminus Market would remain shut and directed the traders to relocate to Kabong satellite market around the Rukuba road.
He said the state government would clear the busy Terminus Market where the bombs exploded to avoid a repeat of such incident.
Gwong said the state government and security operatives had put in place security measures that would protect the lives of citizens in the market
In his words: “I am appealing to individuals and manufacturers, to come and explore the potentials available at the Kabong Market as there are quite a number of shops and spaces available to meet the needs of all viable commercial activities”.
Also speaking at his goodwill message, the board chairman of the Jos main market, Alhaji Yaro Maireke, appealed to traders around the terminus market to relocate to the Kabong market as the market has a conducive environment for traders.
