Market capitalisation extends gains, starts Q3’14 on bullish note

THE equities market closed on a positive note yesterday, as NSE ASI appreciated by +0.30% to close at 42,611.32 basis points, compared with the appreciation of by +0.70% recorded previously. Its Year-to-Date (YTD) returns currently stands at +2.08%
Market breadth closed positive as 7UP leads 30 gainers against 25 losers topped by MRS at the end of yesterday’s session- an improved performance when compared with previous outlook.
Market turnover closes positive as volume traded moved up by +68.66% against by +1.90% uptick recorded in previous session. Continental Insurance, Access bank and WAPIC were the most active to boost market turnover. Access bank and Znith bank top market value list.
NSE Banking records +0.68% to emerge the most supportive sectoral performance among others while NSE Oil & Gas is the most hit with -2.37% loss recorded yesterday.
