Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has assured of a better organised FA Cup this season.
The Director of Competition, Mohamamed Sanusi gave the assurance at the opening Federation cup competition at the FIFA goal project pitch, package B of the Abuja National Stadium said the beauty of the FA cup lies in the fact that small teams have the right to rub shoulder with big teams and even go all the way to upsetting them in some instances.
Sanusi however promised that the prize money for this year’s FA cup will be bettered than that of last year.
“I assure you that there will be improvement in the prize money but I cannot say it now. I am still speaking with the Lagos State Government and by the time we finish arrangement, I will tell you what the prizes will be.”
The NFF head of competitions said there is going to be some changes in the organisation of the Federation cup this year.
Asked about the criteria for choosing centers for the matches Sanusi said, “We have criteria for taking teams to centers, we want to be fair to all, we distribute matches based on equal distance, we want all the teams to travel equal distance and to have equal advantage and disadvantage
Enyimba is the defending champion and the final of the FA Cup will be played in Lagos on August 3.
