Sacked President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Aminu Maigari may be impeachment by the congress if indication from some state FA Chairmen is anything to go by.
It would be recalled that Maigari’s predecessor, Sani Abdullahi Lulu was impeached and Maigari was the chairman of the finance committee of that infamous board.
The acting general secretary of NFF, Lawrence Katken’s action on the directives of the National sports commission, NSC, yesterday was to summon all the Football Association Chairman in the 36 states for Congress with the task of impeaching the incumbent board that was sacked by a Jos high court on Wednesday.
Nigerian Pilot sports gathered yesterday that the alleged impeachment is to put paid to the crisis generated by the court order ahead of the elections into the executive committee of the NFF billed for August this year.
Already about 20 aspirants have picked forms to contest for various post for the elections into the executive committee of the NFF.
The forms go for as much as N250, 000 for those contesting for the NFF presidency while those vying for vice president are expected to pay N150, 000 while aspiring board members’ form goes for N100, 000.
