Imo State Police Command has arrested no fewer than six persons suspected to have hands in the death of four persons killed during a recent clash between two rival cult groups in Obiakpu Egbema in Ohaji/ Egbema local government area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the command, DSP Andrew Enwerem who dropped the hint yesterday told Nigerian Pilot that one of the suspects who sustained bullet injuries died after his arrest.
He stated that the bloody cult clash which occurred a couple of weeks ago had left no fewer than four persons dead with several others severely injured.
According to him, the other five suspects were in the police cell and being interrogated over their involvement and roles in the dastardly killing.
Enwerem disclosed that, it took the combined effort of the command and other security agencies to bring the situation under control, stressing that normalcy has since returned to Obiakpu Community.
It would be recalled that two rival cults, Degbam and Dewell, in Obiakpu community had on Sunday 13th June, 2014 clashed following the alleged invasion of one of the cults by another group.
However, it was gathered that several people of the community displaced during the crisis were yet to return home as they were scattered in neighbouring communities where they were taking refuge.
