In its effort to support the Federal Government’s desire to rescue the Chibok girls abducted in Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents, Bauchi state government has organised a special prayer towards rescuing the girls.
Speaking at the occasion held at the Government House yesterday, Governor Isa Yuguda explained that the essence of organizing the special prayer was to show concern towards the plight of the abducted girls and to seek for God’s intervention in ensuring their safe return to reunite with their families.
He said the unfortunate abduction of the innocent girls by the insurgents is not only a concern to their families but to every responsible Nigerian, hence the decision of the state government to organize a special prayer that will lead to the rescuing of the abducted girls.
Governor Yuguda, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Sagir Aminu Saleh, lamented that parents and other relations of the abducted school girls have been made to undergo trauma in the last 100 days since the abduction, praying that God will facilitate their release very soon. He condemned in strong terms all acts of insurgency, saying it has not brought any good to the country and its citizens since it started about five years ago and appealed to the insurgents to drop their evil acts and join in nation building.
In their separate prayers, Malam Yahaya Tanimu and Mr. John Kennedy respectively prayed God to ensure the abducted girls reunite with their families and urged other Nigerians to continue praying for the rescue of the girls.
