Community and Youth Development, CYD, National Network yesterday advised youths to stand by government in its efforts to rid the nation of terrorists.
National chairman of CYD National Network, Dr. Suraj Abdulkarim who led a delegation of the group to President Goodluck Jonathan’s office expressed shock over the spate of killings in parts of the country.
“Well, we are very sad about it and we have appealed to all the youths in the country that they must not allow themselves to be used.
“And as Nigerians, they must be resolved to go against any terrorist activity and must work collectively with agencies of government, especially the security agencies to ensure that we eliminate the menace that is bedevilling the country.
The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, lecturer explained the purpose of their visit to the Presidential Villa, saying, “When we came to the President, we told him of the Youth conference we have had and the communiqué we had and what we have resolved as Christians and Muslims because among those who organised the conference, we have another Christian body by name Christian Youth for peace and good leadership initiative.
“We worked together collectively and resolved that as youths for this country, we must work together for our peace, collective existence, unity and development of this great country. These are what we told the President.”
