Music has been recognised as a powerful tool to drive across diverse messages to audience. In line with this, the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, has unveiled a plan to host a musical concert in Abuja, to raise funds for thousands of relief victims.

PMAN governor, Abuja chapter, Mr. Collins Adeyemi gave the revelation during the association’s general meeting which took place recently in Abuja where he stated that show will hold at Sheraton Hotel on October 16.

The fund raising show, according to the PMAN governor, will act as a rallying point for countless musicians who will be performing in the show. The concert, which is organised by PMAN in collaboration with the Displaced Women and Children Foundation, will see the unveiling of crisis relief tickets to assist victims of crises in Nigeria.

Speaking further, Mr. Adeyemi said he wants to give the association a human face.

“I want PMAN to adopt a human face, reaching out to the less privileged. Anyone who gives never lacks, thus as an association we must give back to the society. We are going to do this to put smiles on the faces of some of these women and children.

The funds that will be realised on that day will be used to purchase goods for the victims.

In a related development, the governor announced that the association would be organising the first PMAN Abuja Entertainment Music Awards, which will become an annual event.

He therefore urged all the artistes present to give the music profession the respect it deserves.” Music is serious business; we need to look for opportunities to improve on ourselves. In the process of becoming a star, you must be humble.
