A group drumming support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid, Mass Movement for Goodluck 2015, MMG, has taken its campaign to Ebonyi state hinterlands.
Speaking at the campaign rally at Amuro primary school in Afikpo North local government area, the Director General of the movement, Dr Kenneth Ibe-Kalu said that the movement was aimed at mobilising Nigerians to stand and defend good governance and sensitize the minds of Nigerians on the need to support Jonathan.
Dr Ibe-Kalu said their stand that President Jonathan should run for the 2015 presidential election was receiving wide acceptance, adding that other groups including the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum among others have adopted it.
The Ebonyi State Co-coordinator of MMG, Rev. Godwin Obasi recalled that since the civil war ended Igbos have been going through hell by moving to other cities like Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt before they could move outside of the country but Jonathan came and gave international airport to the Igbos.
Rev. Obasi enumerated other dividends of democracy Igbos have benefited in Jonathan’s administration to include; the Second Niger bridge under construction, appointments of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Minister of Health, establishment of a federal university and upgrading the visco-vaginal fistula, VVF hospital to a federal institution and the taking over of the Teaching Hospital by the federal government all in Ebonyi state alone.
He explained that they were in Afikpo to inform people to queue behind President Jonathan in his aspiration to be re-elected, adding that he has done and that MMG believed in the unity of Nigeria as a nation, in order to avoid individuals suffering as the easterners need food and onions from the North while the Northerners need oil from the south to survive.

Oyari explained that Mass Movement for Goodluck 2015 is an assemblage of well meaning Nigerians of all walks of life who are interested in leading support and co-operation to good government , improvement and transformation of the society.
