Former Minister of Commerce Mustafa Bello has joined the league of governorship aspirants in Niger.
Bello made his intention known on Thursday at an event attended by party faithful, loyalists and family members in Minna.
At the event, Bello said that a plan of action for the social and economic development of the state had been produced for his administration, if elected.
He said that his wealth of experience in public service would see him through.
“As the largest state in the country with huge potentials to drive and lead the state’s economic development, we have all it takes to position the state on the super highway of rapid and sustainable growth and development.
“We will transform governance into a viable state enterprise whose proceeds transforms the citizenry into a viable single class devoid of any form of social challenges,’’ he said.
Bello pledged to use the numerous grassroots support he got over the years in politics and two time gubernatorial aspirant to create an enabling and people-friendly government.
He said job creation and women and girl education would be given priority, adding that the aged would also have a share in developing the state. (NAN)
