Over fifty students of Government Secondary School Kirfi in kirfi local government area of Bauchi state were suspended by the school authority for reporting to school after the official reporting date.
The Principal of the school, Malam Aliyu Muhammmad Sani revealed this while briefing newsmen yesterday on the reasons for suspending the students from attending school activities pending the next line of action from the management.
He explained that the decision of the school authority to suspend the students was as a result of their decision to resume weeks after the official resumption date as announced by the ministry of education in the state.
Malam Muhammad Sani pointed out that such decision was to ensure the improvement of education standard in the school and the state in general; warning that the school authority will henceforth not tolerate such negative attitude by the students.
He announced that the students can only be readmitted into the school after collecting a satisfactory explanation which must be approved by the zonal headquarters of the Ministry of education.
Most of the students suspended while answering questions from journalists confirmed that they reported to school some weeks after the official resumption date not knowing that they would face such punishment from the school authority.
