Keshi wants Joel’s return to Eagles –Says midfielder is injury prone

Super Eagles gaffer, Stephen Keshi has stated that he has a very strong desire to have Inter Milan midfielder, Joel Obi to be in the Super Eagles.

Stephen Keshi noted that he had been making an attempt to contact the player who last played for the Super Eagles under coach Samson Siasia but has not been successful in his effort.

He stated that he will not relent in his effort to get the player play come back to the Super Eagles. He however lamented the frequency at which the player get injured revealing that it was the injuries that has kept him from the team all the while.

“I have been making attempt to contact Joel but I have not been able to get through to him. He is one player I will love to play for us but the problem is that he is always injured. And I don’t even know how fit he is right now,”

Several Nigerians had believed that the Inter Milan midfield dynamo would have consolidated his position in the new look super Eagles under Coach stephenKeshi. But the Delta born coach never said anything about him which gave the impression that he was facing out those set of players.

But after the Super Eagles woeful outing at the FIFA Confederation cup in Brazil, stephenKeshi is forced to look back at some of the players and has hinted that he will extend invitation to the likes of ObinnaNsofor, and co. The latest of them now is Joel Obi.

But much as he desires to have him return to the Super Eagles the player may only have to wait for another opportunity as Stephen Keshi has already selected the players that would feature at the Mandela Invitational match in South Africa.
