Senator Solomon Ewuga, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa state, has restated his resolve to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party even if he was not given the party’s ticket to actualise his dream of governing the state in 2015.
He however asserted that he is always a winner in all political contests, describing those making false allegations about his purported defection to the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, as mischief-makers whose stock in trade is cheap deception and gallery politics commonly associated with blackmails and political jobbers, who have never stood any election.
Referring to a social media news outbreak terming him as a serial defector manifests their inability to deliver on any front including the impending loss they will experience in the November 29th PDP gubernatorial primaries, Senator Ewuga who spoke with newsmen in Lafia, the state capital at the weekend, maintained that the purported defection was the handiwork of those who have loss political relevance in the state.
Speaking through one of his spokesmen, Jonathan Ipaa, Ewuga said “Let it be restated that I collected my PDP gubernatorial nomination forms and duly returned same on 7th November, the very day this mindless publication appeared on the social media network of Facebook.”
According to him, “If anything, these faceless opponents are afraid of my intimidating democratic credentials of more than three decades in which some of them are beneficiaries.”
Ewuga, who is a former minister of state, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja further revealed that he has a waiver from the PDP to vie for any position under the party’s platform, urging his co-aspirants to face the Electoral College squarely and canvass for their support rather than reduce the contest to mere political blackmail.
While reminding his distracters of his credentials as one of the founding fathers of the PDP in the State, Ewuga reiterated that his potentials cut across the various ethnic groups of the state, wondering why anyone would want to reduce the contest to an unacceptable dimension.
