Winner of the last House of Assembly primary election for Ezza North West State constituency held by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State, Hon. Unigwe Arinze, has accused the leadership of the party of plotting to substitute his name with that of a serving APC House of Assembly member from his constituency.
In his petition to the Chairman, APC primaries Appeal Committee, Mr. Arinze accused the Minority leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Enyi C. Enyi of plotting with the National Secretariat of the party to substitute his name after he (Enyi) failed to emerge the House of Representative candidate of the party for Ezza North/Ishielu federal constituency of the State.
But in a swift reaction, Hon. Enyi denied the allegation; insisting that he was standing on the decision of the party that all APC legislators be returned to contest the 2015 general election.
Arinze further called on the Party to follow the path of justice, fairness and guideline of the party’s constitution in resolving the situation insisting that nobody has the right to substitute his name after his victory at last APC House of Assembly primaries in the State.
According to him, “I defeated my opponents, Anyigor Michael and Lawrence Nwezza to emerge winner of the primaries with a total of 53 votes.”
He added that Hon Enyi C. Enyi neither bought a nomination form to qualify him to contest Ezza North West State Assembly primary election nor in any way stood for the election.”
