CHELSEA and Manchester United have been told to pay £20million if they want to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
Both teams are on the hunt for a new centre-back in January, and Varane has emerged as their top target.
Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal are both keen to offer the Frenchman first-team football, something that he is failing to get under Carlo Ancelotti, and were plotting to launch bids this month.
And according to reports in Spain, Real Madrid will part ways with the youngster if they are offered £20m for his services.
The La Liga outfit are currently readying a new lucrative contract for experienced defender Pepe, and are open to letting Varane leave in order to give club-grown Nacho a chance in the squad.
