Election: Ijaw women drum support for Jonathan

As the 2015 general elections approach, women under the auspices of Ijaw Women Connect, IWC, have promised to mobilise support among women and youths for the success of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan come March 28th, 2015, presidential election.
The women also promised to ride on the platform of the achievements of the President in the past four years to galvanise support for him across the six states where Ijaws are settled.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja yesterday, the National President, Ijaw Women Connect, Comrade Rosemary Graham Naingba denied claim that the endorsement of the President was because he is an Ijaw man, rather for his good will and the reality of his transformation agenda.
“IWC firmly believe that the interest of the Nigerian women in particular can better be protected and enhanced by the candidature of President Jonathan, and we believe that his re-election remains the only solution for the sustainability of a true democracy in Nigeria,” she said.
