Siasia unsatisfied with Dream Team VI in Gabon victory

Head coach of Nigeria’s U23 male national team, Samson Siasia has expressed displeasure over his side’s poor show in their 2-0 win against Gabon on Saturday in Abuja.

The Dream Team VI defeated their Gabonese counterparts 6-1 on aggregate in the second leg tie played at the National Stadium, Abuja to set up a final round clash with Zambia in the 2015 All African Games qualifier billed for September in Congo.

The former Super Eagles tactician assured that his technical crew will do everything needed to amend the mistakes of the Olympic team ahead of their clash with their Zambia counterparts.

”When you don’t have confidence you’re bound to make many mistakes and I think that was the biggest problem, hopefully and gradually they’ll get used to playing here in Nigeria,” Siasia told media.

“In Gabon they were so relaxed and played very well. If were could win 4-1 away from home I don’t why they shouldn’t be able to do it here.

”In the first half the Gabonese players had much chances than we did. The players made so much mistakes, passing the ball back to themselves, perhaps they were scared paying in Nigeria but these are young boys, they’ll get used to it gradually.

”The most important thing is that we , but all this lapses have to be corrected before the next game,” he concluded.

Samson Siasia’s men will play the first leg tie of the final round of the 2015 All African Games qualifiers against Zambia on March 21.
