Ahead of the Anambra election coming up in November, the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Labour Party, has slated a special meeting in Abuja tomorrow to, according to the national publicity secretary of the part, strategise towards the election.
In a release made available to the press, the national publicity secretary, Comrade Ikpe Etokudo said the meeting of the NWC of the party, which is to be presided over by the national chairman, Dan Nwanyanwu, was to fine tune strategies to capture Anambra in the forthcoming election.
The LP, which controls only Ondo State, is plotting to reap from the crisis rocking its two major rivalries, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the PDP to add Anambra to its fold.
With the seeming intractable crisis bedeviling APGA, which is the party in power in the state and the expected confusion that may arise given the crowd of contestants under the PDP, the LP feels it is set to leverage on this to capture Anambra.
It would be recalled that so far, LP is the only party that has selected its candidate, in the person of Mr Ifeanyi Uba, the Capital Oil boss, for the election.
