A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State and member, Board of Trustees of the party, General J.O.J Okoloagu has assured that General Muhammadu Buhari [rtd] the president-elect, would run an all inclusive government as from May 29, 2015, after his swearing in.
General Okoloagu, who also was the APC senatorial candidate in the March 28 elections for Enugu North senatorial district, disclosed this to newsmen in Enugu while reacting to the results of the presidential/National Assembly elections.
“The General Buhari I know is not a vindictive man. His administration will run a government that is responsible, responsive and absolutely accountable to the people; a government that will focus on the needs of the people.”
The APC chieftain assured that the change most Nigerians had been yearning for had eventually been achieved with the election of General Buhari, who he described as “a very disciplined and patriotic Nigerian.”
He urged every Nigerian, irrespective of party affiliation, tribe or religion, to join the incoming APC government in its commitment to move the nation forward.
Okoloagu also described President Goodluck Jonathan as a worthy statesman for accepting defeat in the spirit of sportsmanship.
“I have respect for President Jonathan. History will not forget President Jonathan for having laid a good background for the sustenance of democracy in the country.”
Reacting to the Enugu North senatorial district election, General Okoloagu alleged that the result as was announced by the state Resident Electoral Officer, REC, Professor Chukwuemeka Onukaogu, were far from the realities that were obtained in the polling booths, stating that the APC poll agents were refused accreditation so as to gain access to the polling units as a strategy to permit PDP to rig the elections.
He argued that the results that were announced by the REC were not signed by any of the APC polling agents in Enugu North senatorial district, saying the result would not be acceptalble to him.
“As I talk to you now, I have not heard any result from Enugu North senatorial district,” calling on the INEC boss, Professor Attahiru Jega, to cancel the Enugu North senatorial district election on the ground that it was filled with frivolities in favour of PDP.”
