On March 23, 2015, renowned entertainment personality and music executive cum politician, Dayo Adeneye was a year older. But the showbiz impresario would not be celebrating till after the elections.
In a phone chat with Society People, the ace broadcaster said: “We would have to postpone the celebration until after the elections. I am really committed to the elections at the moment because all I want is a better Nigeria.
However, the gregarious broadcaster didn’t allow the day to just pass by without marking it. Out of his busy schedules, the meticulous handsome dude jumped out to celebrate the milestone with his family and a few well-wishers in Lagos. The elaborate party will now hold after the elections, according to him. The day for the grand ball is still under wraps, but it expected to be outstanding and elegant.
Born Adedayo Olumide Adeneye on March 23, 1960, the 55-year-old Dayo began his sojourn into entertainment when he returned to Nigeria from America in 1996 and joined Kenny Ogungbe to set up Primetime entertainment.
D1 as he is fondly called had his primary education at St. Catherine’s Nursery and Primary School, Surulere (Lagos) between 1970 and 1975. He later moved to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, where he obtained his Higher School Certificate. He was at Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos between 1980 and 1981 before he got admission to study at the prestigious Southern University of New Orleans, USA where he bagged a BSC degree in Business Administration in 1985.
Between 1985 and 1986 he also bagged a Masters’ degree in Mass Communication with emphasis on Radio and Television production from Southern University, Baton Rouge, USA.
He ventured into politics in 2014, joining the APC as he sought to be a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Odogbolu constituency, he however lost out at the party primaries.
He is married to Caroline Adeneye, who is the boss of Sierra Events Management. They got married in 2001 and the union is blessed with 3 children.
