Super Eagles striker,
Odion Ighalo has gained
promotion to the EPL with
his Watford teammates
having secured a massive
0-2 win away from
home over Brighton in
their early kickoff in the
Championship yesterday.
Though Ighalo was
unable to add to his 20-
goal tally on Saturday, he
provided the assist for Troy
Deeney who got the curtain
raiser at The American
Express Community
Stadium (Brighton, East
Sussex) to the delight of the
traveling Watford fans.
Ighalo’s clever flick set
up Deeney to drill into the
bottom corner for his 21st
of the season.
Watford had to wait till
dip into stoppage time to
seal their latest win when
Deeney released Vydra
to tuck home deep into
stoppage time and ensure
that the Hornets were in
pole position to go up
ahead of next weekend’s
season finale.
Watford now have 88
points from 45 games.
While they wait for their
last game of the season,
Watford’s top-two finish
in the Championship and
by extension promotion
to the EPL may be fasttracked
should both
Middlesbrough and
Norwich City fail to win
later today
