A group known as PDP Loyal Group has called on the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its governorship candidate in the last election in Taraba State, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, to accept defeat and congratulate the governor-elect, Darius Ishaku.
Addressing journalists yesterday in Jalingo, leader of the group, Hon. Dennis Shima told journalists that the irregularities the APC was complaining of were uncalled for as the run-off election was conducted in the areas APC was raising concern under the watch of INEC security and even the APC agents.
Three Resident Electoral Commissioners, two INEC national commissioners, two DIGs, the press as well as local and international observers, according to the group, monitored the election but did not hesitate to laud its conduct.
The group wondered why the APC and its candidate in the state could not emulate President Jonathan by accepting defeat and congratulating the governor-elect, as the group insisted that Taraba was bigger than any individual’s interest.
They called on all Tarabans irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences to join hands with the governor-elect to move the state forward.
“Now that elections are over, we call on all those who lost to note that Power belongs to God and He gives to whoever he wishes.”
The group appealed to all who lost to come forward with their programmes and policies and support the government to move the state to enviable heights.
