Inter Milan is emerging as an increasingly viable option for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Roma and Arsenal are also interested in the 32-year-old keeper who is bound for the exit at the end of the season after 11 years at Stamford Bridge.
Cech would like Champions League football which is certain at Arsenal next year and likely at Roma, who are second in Italy’s Serie A.
Inter, eighth in the Italian top flight, are set to miss out on Europe’s top competition which is the reason their No.1 keeper Samir Handanovic is keen to move.
Roberto Mancini has identified Cech as his ideal replacement and the business of trying to convince the Czech to uproot his family and leave London is already under way.
Cech would prefer his family to stay in London but there is great mutual respect between him and Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea’s Russian owner Abramovich will not stand in his way if he wants to join Arsenal but Cech understands the champions would rather not sell to a direct rival in the Premier League, while Arsene Wenger is not certain that he wants a new No 1.
