After a resounding election win for British Prime Minister David Cameron and his Conservative party, President Obama on Friday offered congratulations and vowed the US and the UK will remain key partners on a host of global issues.
President Goodluck Jonathan on the same vein congratulated Prime Minister David Cameron and the Conservative Party of Great Britain on their victory in the country’s general elections.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
Jonathan assured Cameron and the Conservative Party of the best wishes of the government and people of Nigeria as they prepare to form a new British Government backed by the clear majority in parliament which they won in Thursday’s elections.
Mr. Cameron’s party captured at least 324 seats to the Labour Party’s 229, with 639 of 650 constituencies counted, The Associated Press reported.
