President of the Nigeria Football Federation,( NFF), Mr. Amaju Pinnick has warned the Super Eagles players to be ready to adhere strictly to the reime of players code of conduct as prepared by the Nigeria football federation or be ready to face disciplinary action.
Pinnick disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja in an interactive session with journalists. He said, players are being served with players code of conduct while they are invited for national assignment, therefore, any player that is not ready to adhere to it can ignore the invitation.
However, the former Delta state FA chairman also pleaded with members of the sporting press to complement their efforts in rebuilding and positioning the nation’s football, adding that negative stories against the federation will rather cost them a place in the committee of football nations.
“We are very open in our dealings, as members of the press anything you want to find out from us, our doors are open every time. One reason that made us to call for this meeting is to brief you on how far we’ve gone with repairs: repairs in terms of image laundering, re-branding and so on but, before we say one thing about us, the people from other countries we meet will tell us enough about ourselves which are mostly negative,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pinnick enjoined the media to dwell more on positive angles about the federation than the negative for the interest of the nation.
