2015 polls: God used Jonathan to shame false prophets – Kuku

SPECIAL Adviser to the President on
Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Kingsley
Kuku has said the main reason why
God divinely brought President
Goodluck Jonathan into politics was
purposely to rescue Nigeria from war
and possible disintegration in 2015.
Kuku made the remarks in Ado
Ekiti yesterday at the Ekiti State
University, EKSU in Ado Ekiti, while
commissioning a 500-seater hall
named after President Goodluck
Ebele Jonathan and conferment of
honour on the outgoing President
by the Alumni Association of the
University.
According to Kuku, who
represented President Goodluck
Jonathan at the ceremony, Jonathan
was divinely called into politics
to disgrace the soothsayers and
prophets of doom, who believed the
year for Nigeria to break up was 2015.
He said: “Nobody advised
President Goodluck Jonathan to
concede defeat. He did that based
on personal conviction and divine
advice from God. Jonathan, to me,
was a God-sent.
“Even at a time when the results
were being announced, President
Jonathan was in his office working
on some files. When I got to him,
I was wondering how a man that
was involved in an election of that
magnitude could be busy working in
his office.
“He even called Major General
Muhammadu Buhari before the
final result was announced. Buhari
himself never expected this. Even the
United States had prophesied that the
2015 election’s outcome would either
make or mar Nigeria.
“Jonathan was brought into politics
to rescue Nigeria from war. People
will wonder how a man who controls
the Army, Police, FRSC, Prisons,
Immigration and others could have
lost election; though I quite believe it
was an act of God.”
Governor Ayodele Fayose,
who was represented by his wife,
Feyisetan, assured that no efforts will
be spared to ensure that the university
assumes a global reckoning and a
citadel of learning the alumni could
be proud of.
The Vice Chancellor, EKSU,
Prof Oladipo Aina commended
TETFUND for focusing attention in
the development of the institution,
saying the institution has begun
a comprehensive review of its
academic programmes to allow for
development and to enhance global
competitiveness
