Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has described the confirmation of Sheikh Lawal Adam as the Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque by the Jamatul Nasir Islam, JNI, as putting the round peg in the round hole.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Samuel Emmanuel Nanle, the Director, Press and Public Affairs to the Governor.
He noted that, Sheik Adam as the Deputy Chief Imam to late Sheik Balarabe Dawud over the years is the most qualified to succeed the late cleric and urged him to bring his wealth of experience garnered over the years to bear in his new office.
Governor Lalong also advised the Chief Imam to stand for peace and progress of Muslim Ummah in the state and to extend same for the continuous peaceful and harmonious co-existence of the various religious groups in the state and the nation at large.
He assured that the state government will work closely with religious leaders in the state in order to achieve a lasting peace, and wished Sheik Adams a fruitful and successful tenure.
