A non governmental
organisation, Kaura
Working Cycle based in
Bauchi state has refuted the
report credited to a national
newspaper that former
Minister of the Federal
Capital Territory, FCT,
Senator Bala Mohammed
has concluded plans to
defect to the ruling party
All Progressives Congress,
APC.
According to a statement
signed by the Cycle
Chairman, Musa Sulaiman
Mai Posta and made
available to newsmen at
the weekend in Bauchi
described the story as
baseless, saying the former
minister has no intention
whatsoever to defect from
the PDP to the ruling party
simply because they lost
an election.
Sulaiman Mai Posta also
described the purported
story as the handiwork
of unscrupulous and
mischief persons who are
held bent to smear the
good name of the former
Minister for their selfish
reasons, adding that these
speculations were baseless,
and fictitious, unfounded
information.
According to him, the
mischief makers are all
out bane on a calculated
but deliberate attempt to
tarnish the image of the
former minister against
the growing acceptance by
PDP bigwigs for Senator
Bala Mohammed to
clinch the party’s national
chairmanship.
Mai Posta called on
Nigerians generally to
shun politics of distraction,
blackmail, intimidation,
and castigation for
the nation’s nascent
democracy to strive,
saying the contest for the
PDP national chairman is
open to all and sundry.
“We wish to inform
the general public that
gone are the days for
blackmailing, we have
come of age in this digital
politics, gone are the
days for money politics
and the former Minister
is qualified to held any
position not only in the
party but the country at
large” the cycle chieftain
grumbled.
