Recent media reports that Super Eagles’ Captain, Joseph Yobo is returning to the team may be a ruse after all, as sources in the Glass House has revealed that the Coach, Stephen Keshi was only laying to the gallery when he said that the Fenerbahçe S.K defender is still in his plans.
A top member of the Federation, who however, pleaded anonymity, disclosed that they are very much aware that Keshi is not planning to recall Joseph Yobo, even though he has repeatedly maintained that he is still part of his plans.
Contrary to what Keshi has been saying he has consistently kept Yobo out of the team and did not even did include him in the team that went to the Confederation Cup and the Mandela Friendly coming up later this month.
The top member of the NFF Technical Committee member, who spoke in Abuja, stated that the Committee is working assiduously to iron out whatever differences that exists between the two, in order for Yobo to return to the team.
“ I can assure you that Yobo will return to the Super Eagles but I cannot give you the details of what we are doing but be rest assured that it will be sorted out before the team goes to the World Cup when we qualify” the source said.
The quarrel between the coach and the player began immediately after the Nations Cup when Keshi had omitted the Fenerbahçe S.K of Turkey defender from the list of players that would play the Harambee Stars of Kenya in a World Cup qualifying match in Calabar.
