Before jetting to South Africa on Sunday together with other home base Super Eagles players and technical crew led by Coach Stephen Keshi, Warri Wolves’ defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has said that they (Super Eagles) will approach the game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa like African Cup of nations final.
Keshi tutored lads will file out against Bafana Bafana in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup tomorrow where they hope to continue their dominance in Africa after lifting the converted AFCON trophy early this year in same country.
“We are going there to play as the champions of Africa, so there is not going to be any dull moment in the game. We are aware that they would want to beat us to rubbish our unbeaten record so far, but we would take them as if we are playing with Spain,” he said.
However, Egwuekwe told Pilot Sports that he is gradually taking his place in the team again after watching from the bench at the last nation’s cup in South Africa where he was unable to play a single game due to illness.
Meanwhile, all the invited players for the game tomorrow have arrived South Africa ready for the encounter.
