The African Cup of Nations’ hero, Sunday Mba has said that he is back to fitness and the form that saw him scoring the winning goals against Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-final and against Burkina Faso in the final of the 2013 AFCON in South Africa.
Mba said that since he came back from the Nations Cup, he had been facing fatigue for lack of playing time which was as a result of his transfer saga between Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers, which he said has been addressed now.
He revealed that his performance against the Harambee Stars of Kenya at the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar, last two months, was affected by his transfer saga which denied him playing time before the game.
“I was not in my best in the game against Kenya in Calabar. You were aware that after the Nations Cup in South Africa which ended in February, I wasn’t playing with any club before the match and so it showed in my performance, but now I’m okay and good to go.”
The Enugu Rangers attacking midfielder opined that now that he is playing week in week out for his club, he hoped to replicate his AFCON feat against their opponents in the forth coming friendly matches, World Cup qualifiers and the Confederation Cup which come up next month in Brazil.
It would be recalled that Mba was embroiled in a transfer saga which involved his former club, Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers, his current club, and has been resolved with the later taking full ownership of him.
