Okabichi appointed Onu Igala of Zuma District

Danruwatan Zazzau Suleja, Hakimin and District Head of Zuma Rock, Alhaji Abubakar Musa has appointed Mr. Benjamin Abdul Okabichi the head of Igala people in Zuma district of Tafa Local Government of Area, Niger State.

Onu Igala said shortly after he was turbaned that there can be no substitute for peaceful co-existence, therefore, he would work hard to promote harmonious living amongst the diverse tribes in the community.

The new Chief of Igala in Gauraku in Zuma district of Tafa Local Government Area in Niger State, Mr. Benjamin Abdul Okabichi, after he was appointed as the chief of Igala residence in the area pledged to bring unity among the people of the area for the purpose of peaceful co-existence and development.

Mr. Okabichi who was turbaned by Danruwatan Zazzau Suleja, Hakimin and District Head of Zuma Rock, Alhaji Abubakar Musa in his palace in Gauraku thanked the Hakimin for the honour bestowed upon him, saying that he will not rubbish his integrity and the people of Igala living in the area.

He vowed to reciprocate the gesture accorded him by the Hakimin and the people of the area, adding that he will use his wealth of experience in the civil service to ensure that the Igala people living in the district maintain high degree of integrity and neighbourliness at all time.

Mr. Okachi, who hails from Ejegbo in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, joined formal Nigerian Post-Telecommunication in 1967 in Niger State, after which he was transferred from Minna Headquarters to Abuja, now Suleja on December 19, 1991. He retired from the service in 2002 from the civil service after serving for 35 years in accordance with the Federal civil service rules.

The Onu of Igala explained that he has spent so many years in Gauraku in Zuma district, adding that he has been living in peace with the people of the area without problem or rancour.

He therefore advised Nigerians living among other ethnic groups entirely different from their own within the country to live in peace with the people and as well contribute to the development of the area.

The Hakimin charged the newly turban Onu of Igala to live in harmony with the people as he has been relating with them before and should always suggest ideas that will develop the area.
