THE TECHNICAL Adviser of the Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure, Mr. Fatai Amoo has blamed his players for losing 2-0 to Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi in one of the week 27 Premier League encounter played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.
The Coach was speaking to Sportswriters immediately after their week 27 encounter where he said his players played with nasty mind as if they don’t have anything at stake as they failed to convert their chances despite the glaring chances they had.
“I did not see the reason why we should lose this game, because the worst we would have pick is a draw in this game, they played the game as if they don’t have anything at stake but the goals scored by Wikki are genuine and I congratulate them for the victory” he said.
Commenting on the officiating aspect the Sunshine tactician explained that as far as he is concern the officiating was perfectly okay as he has no grudges against the officiating officials as Wikki deserve the victory.
Alaba Johnson wearing jersey number 16 of Wikki scored the brace in the 37minutes and 90minutes of play respectively with a header that gave the Bauchi based team the three maximum points.
Also commenting after the match, Wikki Chairman Sule Chindo thanked God for the victory but promised to make some changes to fortify the team with the aim of producing better results in their future matches.
The Wikki Chairman pointed out that many stakeholders wanted to watch the matches of the team but some indiscipline people are causing confusing for the team during its home matches which resulted to the decision of the NPL to order the club to play its home matches under close door.
He, however, assured that the club will make an appeal to the league board to reconsider its decision on ordering a close door matches and the fined of N2m imposed on the team after some football fans encroachment of filed of play during their week 22 match with El-kanemi warriors of Maiduguri.
Wikki will this Wednesday play against Sharks of Port Harcourt in one of the week 28 premier League matches
