SUPER Eagles’ holding midfielder, Fegor Ogude is set to miss the crucial World Cup qualifying match against the Flames of Malawi when they come calling in Calabar on the 7th of September, as he is said to be nursing a knee injury.
The team Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi who disclosed this noted that he has been in constant touch with the player and will be waiting this week to take a final decision on the situation.
“We are still monitoring things and we will wait this week before coming to a conclusion on whether he will play in the match or not,”
Ogude who plies his trade in the Norwegian League is a key member of Stephen Keshi’s developing team and the Super Eagles Chief coach will be very desirous for the player to be fit for the match.
Though, the team will not be lacking in players at the holding midfield position as there are several other good players like John Ogu, John Obi Mikel and Ogeyi Onazi who can easily take over the position.
Meanwhile, Stephen Keshi expressed satisfaction with the performances of other of his players in Europe maintaining that all the players are all fully fit ahead of the world cup qualifiers against Malawai, a match that has generated a lot of controversy
